I asked them about a future 605 build. They gave me the worst answer ever. Very rude, and just threw a $20000 figure in my face.
We don't need them. They need us. If you don't like our money, we will spend it elsewhere.
I prefer EPL, and will be dealing with them with everything from now on.

I added some highlights from the case involving an S4 owner whose car VAST kept for 2 years and then returned to the owner, after he filed a lawsuit against VAST, incomplete and in boxes.

    More VAST craziness

    wtf

I never ordered from vast and for sure I will not.

I want to deal with EPL for specifics but currently I buy from 034 motorsports. I can use both.

So what happened? Did they rule in his favor?

Apparently it was settled out of court. The pictures I posted had one of the car being delivered back to the owner, and that picture was posted online on December 8th. According to the court records the case was dismissed 5 days later on December 13th.

As long as the owner got what he wanted... Saw the pictures, and that's total bullsh*t. Very incompetent company...

He didn't have his car for 2 years, I cannot imagine any settlement being able to compensate for that lost time. One of the astonishing facts to come out if you look at that complaint was that VAST was never a licensed repair facility prior to last June. I'm just trying to piece things together, but while VAST supposedly put a mechanics lien on the car, they had no authority to do so. They kept his car and demanded payment to give it back without any authority, that's like blackmail or auto theft. VAST probably agreed to settle because they might have been facing jail time.

Actually, some of the absurd VAST postings were provided by guys on AZ. I think the abundance of facts are starting to make it difficult for anyone to defend VAST. They just keep digging a deeper hole for themselves.

The law firm that represented the owner against VAST is now taking calls from any owners that may have a possible case with VAST. I've updated the web page with info about this.

    Information for VAST customers

My connection with all of this is because VAST stopped my tune before it was done, and when I took them to small claims court for breach of contract they lied about me to the judge. They also deceived me by having me work through a VAST dealer, who was simply another customer of theirs, and allowed them to avoid a direct contract, so they convinced the judge that they had no obligation to do the work I had paid for. The dealer effectively laundered my payment to them and enabled them to not have a contract with me.

    They are soooooooo fuxored.

I used to enjoy speaking with Prince and Mike. Now, the place is a joke.
Andy and Jimmy are the last pieces to be sure the company is destroyed.

How do you stop writing a file for a tune half way through ?? Just flash it, drive it, log it. Done. Unitronics flashed my 20th years ago at a show with a hiccup. I paid, Mike Z sat in my car and we played stupid Dance music on the radio and fist pumped then done.

The process I was following with VAST entailed mailing them my ECU so they could flash the update and make some revisions based upon the cars taking to the tune. Before they finished with the tuning process they told me they were through. The short of it is that I'd posted on a forum that I thought it was unfair for them to charge me return shipping for the ECU when they had made a mistake with the flash. The flash was for a car with an MBC in parallel with N75 and I was using an N75 controller only, which I'd told them and even confirmed they understood before the flash took place. When they said they wouldn't apply my shipping costs to the corrected flash shipping I made a post online about it. VAST called me at home the following morning, Saturday and went on and on telling me how little regard they had for me, and then closed by saying they wouldn't be supporting me anymore. I'd just received the ECU back, so I hadn't had a chance to log it to see how the new flash was performing, but they declared the tuning complete.

They ****ed my tune up twice while trying to get logs for revisions by setting the rev limiter to 3500. Paid to ship the ecu back to them, when i get it back the rev is still limited to 3500. Paid to ship it back again, then finally i can log and the maf scaling is all ****ed up, this is with their intake and fueling kit and they cant even get that right. The car pulls a ton of timing because the requested is too high, twenty emails, calls, no responce in over 3 months. Theyre all pieces of ****. I guess spending $7000 at the drop of a hat means nothing to them. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH VAST

As though more reasons to be cautious when dealing with VAST were needed, their policy is not to support what they sell unless it comes direct from them, so skip the VAST distributor shop that's local to you 'cause you'll be own your own if things go south, or that poor dealer will be.

While never having personal experience with VAST I take all the info you and others have posted into great consideration in choosing who to deal with now that I am both feet in the 2.7T world.
I was looking at them for a your average RS4 K04 Turbos ... but now weighing in other options for my S4 build. I've had nothing but great experiences dealing with 034 in the past with my old 5 cylinder Audis ... think I might just continue with them.... Not anything major but so far I have a few hoses from them on my stg1 A6. Great to deal with. Great product. Fast shipping and always get responses in any from right away . The STK they are developing has been catching my attention more and more anyway .

Again thanks for the Info. Being in the industry I know customer service is important. People make mistakes.. we are human. Its how those mistakes are dealt with that separates shops and how high a priority customer satisfaction is and being able to know when they have mad a mistake.
