To be honest, I’m tired of blowing up the “What did you do to your MkV today?” thread and figured I would start my own (seems all the hipsters are doing it these days). It'll basically serve as a place to dump pictures and show the progress I’ve made. Anyway, I purchased the car on December 13th 2011, a few days after my 22nd birthday. Once I sold my BMW 3-series I knew I was going to buy an MK5 and waited patiently for the right one come along.

    Day I picked her up:

(Bought it with tint, not sure of the %...I’m going to have it removed once I get pulled over for it)

Took advantage of the weather & painted the calipers two days later.

    …so much wheel gap

Smoked side markers…grill stayed like this for only 24 hours.

Filled the holes on the shield & painted it black

snapped my smiley in half trying to remove it

    De-badged & LED plate bulbs

Votex lip, subtle spoiler & back to OEM side markers

    Bought these beautiful things…

…Mike aka Minor_Threat installed them & I took some pictures the next day

Twisted the fronts down 5 threads & the rears settled a little. My friend Anthony snapped some shots a few days later (which came out great)

    Bought some plasti dip

So it's been a month and this is how she'll sit for winter. GLI side skirts should
be on by next week and I've been searching for a set of wheels to refinish for
spring but haven't had any luck

Welp sorry for wasting your time

crazy what a difference the plastidip makes. Most vortexers disagree, but I love black wheels! lookin good How much thread do you have left? I'm sitting maybe a TAD bit lower, & i've got 14 threads left up front & 8 in the rear on my ksports. I was debating between these 2 coils for a while.

Thanks! Yeah, I never liked plasti dip but I figured for winter why the hell not. Up front I have 12 threads left with the helpers still in...I believe the rear is at 10 or 12 as well. I plan on going much lower once spring rolls around

Picked up a set of wheels today that I'm not crazy about but I couldn't
decline the offer. I'm going to clean them up, although they're in great
condition, and determine whether they'll stay or not.

Parked behind my boss's R8 today, snapped a picture during lunch break
& four hours later it was stolen

Got them from ECS, no modifications necessary. Just swap out the OEM bulbs with
the LEDs using the origional housing...takes a few minutes.

    Good progression so far

And yeah black plasti-dip is definitely awesome in cases like this. I plasti-dipped my OEM wheels until I got new wheels. Until you get yours it definitely works

The vette wheels are being "modified" as we speak...definitely going to take a few weeks
to finish them. After all is said and done I'm going to spray them with a gloss pearl or cream

I actually really like those wheels. I almost picked a set up last week. Not too many MKV's running them. Can't wait to see them on.
