went with the 225... heard 235 would have been a better choice, but the price of the conti dw's at tirerack were too good to pass up

Lol. Your thread title cracks me up. Oxymoron of the year award.

Wheels look excellent. I'm sure the pics don't do it justice, but even so, that finish looks even better than I thought it would.

got so much done this week.. will post pics once I get em...

      - car tinted 30% all around!
      - installed P3 digital gauge.. pretty easy install, such a clean look..
      - got sidemarkers body matched and rear reflectors piano black painted by axl rose! looks awesome!
      - couldn't wait for my APR-VWR intake/HPFP to come in, so I drove 2 hours to APTuning and got tuned stage 1!!!!! oh man, that 2 hour ride back was amazing!

Getting Opti-coated and RSe14 wheels mounted Tuesday!

quick question... so my boost gauge read max 18 PSI when I was stock, and after I got chipped, the most boost that it read was 21 PSI. Does a difference of about 3 PSI seem about right with stage 1 APR???????

if feels fast, I can hear the turbo even louder, but its not blow your pants off fast... i mean it does pull even at 6th gear, but maybe I was just expecting way too much?

i went from a 240hp to a ~360hp R32 and really did not feel any wow significance, not even close.
best way to find out? run a stock R and you 'should' see results.
how i first learned the power difference on my mk4 yrs ago...

      and really 450$ for this?

Sweet picture of the R, Mr. Chest Pain (and yes, I came here thinking that you narrowly survived a heart attack recently )

Try Carmax, if you are still selling your vehicle. I have a friend who is a VW dealer - he has repeatedly told me how they basically can't beat a Carmax deal. Just clean it up, give it max curb appeal, and let them give you a quote. I got a ridiculous amount for my 2010 Mazdaspeed3.

traded the car in... I actually got the car appraised at Carmax. the tax break on the difference of the trade at dealership made it better for me to just trade it in. My BMW had nearly 100,000 miles on it

anyways, so I got APR stage 1 on saturday, and drove like a madman that day and yesterday. I am so grateful I got this car.

A couple of my female friends who kept ribbing me for getting a "VW" and telling me "oh it looks cute!" were able to ride the car after the tune, and they got really quiet during the ride. Another friend who can drive manual took it for a spin, and afterwards she was like "oh crap... can we trade cars?" (she drives the new 328i)..

Maybe I'm a weirdo but I like the rear reflected. It makes the rear end look more aggressive imo.

But then again the orange sidemarkers don't really bother me either.

      Its a matter of taste.

I just appreciate contrast, that's probably why I like the reflectors in the back. I don't like side markers but they don't bother me enough to want to change them.
