I posted this over in the Mk6 section, but I'll put it here too. I was wondering if you guys knew what wheel sizes were safe to run up front and still tuck. On the stock Denvers, 7.5 et 51, with the bulky stock tires, it's pretty easy to break a height sensor.

Does anyone have pictures of how their front sensors are installed on a 6? I've heard it's different than a 5 from a knowledgeable installer.

The other question I have is kind of a two part question. Over the summer, when the install was fresh, I would lose about an inch of height in the rear over 24 hours. Now, with winter (and it's not that cold.. 30 degrees Fahrenheit) I lose 2-3 on the rear-passenger, and the rear-driver is completely down in like 3 hours. Is this normal? I have been leaving it aired out in a cold garage for 3-5 days at a time when I go on snowboarding trips. Could the bag have a crack in it, or some other problem related to leaving the car all the way down on cold nights?

I can't leave the car aired up because I'm gone for days at a time, and when I get back all four corners would be at different heights.

    Thanks

Get a bottle of soapy water and star spraying all the connections. Its not really normal. it is though normal to develop leaks, of have leaks get worse with the cold weather.

Its fine to leave it down for a few days.

If you had a crack in a bag, it would hold air for a second, and you would know.
More than likely its a leak at a connection. From your description its always been there, it will continue to get worse. The good news is the worse it gets the easier it will be to find.

For the leaks, start with Kev's steps, I usually find I your situation is a line that's not cut square, the cold just exaggerates it or its not pushed in all the way. I install the sensors genrally the same for both Mkvi and mkv. Differences is the mkv already has a few holes in the control arm that I just bore slightly and bolt a bracket in. For the MkVI I drill the hole, which is a pain when I'm doing it all on jack stands. Unfortunately don't have an photos of the MKVI I did over the summer with elevel, but I do have my MkV if you need some ideas

My MKV, the sway bar is not in here. With the sway in you may need some longer threaded rod:

Thanks guys I'm putting my sway back in, so once I'm done I'll post some photos and some pointers on where/ how to mount the sensors with proper clearance.

you just need to move it out a bit on the lower mount point. i had mine where yours was, and i would only hit on full lock. just too damn lazy to move it -- so i just made slightly more 'sweeping' 3 point turns.

**** it NYC. deal with it. i'm on air

I'd be down for that too; I don't mind making wider turns. The only problem is that I was told I couldn't get an alignment without having to be able to turn the wheels all the way.
