Whipped this up in about a minute or so... Integrating the couch would be a pain and plus I don't want to piss off VMG staff.
Does anyone know of a place to get these cut... with little to no lead time?

I asked a buddy of mine that wanted to drive on the 'Ring since he can remember; maybe he'll come with me. I'm planning on coming on sunday; it's not that far from here.
I'm going to swap wheel bearings and brake pads on the Rennsemmel today, then somethime next week it should go through the inspection; in that case I'll have a track-worthy car
EDIT: What size would the stickers be? I would take one or two.

Monday Bump!

Hope you guys arent too disappointed
Looking forward to it though! Hope we can get some stickers made!

I still don't know if I'll be there on saturday or on sunday, but I will be there one day only. You can drive on saturday after the race? If I'm not mistaken the Classic DTM are going to race too.
We (my nephew and I) have been busy le last two week-ends working on the red Fiat (new front wheel hubs and brake pads and a very nice rust repair patch), let's hope it passes the Tüv. Then we'll be there with our very own Fiat Reparto Corse![]()

I believe the open driving is 1730-1900 Saturday and all day Sunday...
#153
I know FLD went to the ring and drove a Citroen crossover thing for under $1500 last year. Realistically, do you guys know how much it would run me between flying, housing, and vehicle rental (not looking for a 911, but preferably something with some kind of nut. I already know I will be balls slow but still..)? I might be down for this next year if you guys actually do it. If I don't buy a condo by the end of the year I'm going.
#154
Here's a car rental site: http://www.rentracecar.de/english/prices/index.html
€250 for two hours in a race-prepped Swift is your cheapest option. Otherwise you have you traditional outlets, but renter beware - that could be trouble.
Where are you flying from? That price is really going to vary... Check flights in Frankfurt, Cologne/Bonn, Duesseldorf or Dortmund. You might get lucky and find something last minute for under $1000.
Accomodations shouldn't be too bad... Less than €100 shouldn't be too difficult.
Good luck!
#155
Oh I wouldn't be able to go until October the earliest, but I'd hold off if you guys did this again next year. Coming from Connecticut, USA and I'd probably fly out of JFK in NYC.
As far as rentals, if they catch you on the ring they basically black list you worldwide from their agency right?
#156
Well if this year goes well, I don't see why we wouldn't do it again next spring. You should have plenty of options out of JFK or Newark. As for rentals, I've heard stories of blacklisting and charging for new tires, rotors, pads and so on.
#157
The part that says with the additional 150 euro insurance, if you crash you only have to reimburse 2,900 euro's for the swift....I'll browse prices for ha ha's. And screw that, I'll pass on buying new things @ retail price....man at this rate it seems cheaper to just ship my car over there![]()
#159
What's everyone doing about tires?
The weather up here sucks and doesn't seem much better down in Nürburg.

I am running summers. The forecast for Sunday is part cloudy with humidity in the 90% range. The high is around 50.
#161
I think I'll be there with winter tyres. The Fiat 128 won't be ready this year, a plastic hose that goes from the brake fluid container to the brake master cylinder broke and the carb started spitting fuel all over the engine. So I'll be there in the brick. Boring. Or maybe not, it's RWD after all.
#162
This weather is making me sad... I was there at the same time last year and it was beautiful!!

#163
Looks like high 40's and only 20% chance of rain, it could be worse given the weather over past week. It's only Monday, hopefully the forecast will get better.
Erik
#164
will be there on my street legal slicks
If its pissing with rain then...I'll be sad..
Will be there sunday morning at 8am, thats my plan.
Do we have a spot that we will all meet up?
By the cafe/paddock?
Lets all wear somethin funny on our heads so we know that we're a part of the group![]()
#165
We haven't quite figured out a meeting point...
Sunday will be easy but I'm not sure what we are doing about the race on Saturday.
#166
http://www.wetter.de/wettervorhersag...orhersage.html
Extended forecast shows no rain on Saturday and Sunday - not the warmest or sunniest days, but no rain.
Keeping my fingers crossed.![]()

Here's the entry list for Saurday's race: http://www.vln.de/includes/download....012-04-14s.pdf
Looks like there will be some FANTASTIC cars!![]()
#170
Yeah, the entry list is pretty awesome. I lost count of all the GT3's.
So how are we going to identify each other? We probably should figure this out since we've only got two days left.

Well, I'd like to get into the grandstands and pits for the VLN Race on Saturday. I'm not sure how parking will be for that... I don't know how many people are actually going to the race actually. Maybe we can meet up in that area??
As for Sunday, we should designate a lot to meet in. There's the lot next to the ticket office, the lot by the souvenir stand and the lots across the street in the field. I guess it all depends on how crowded it is and whether or not there will be room for all of us. I would assume the lot by the ticket office would work...
I'll be in the red US-spec MkV GTI with funny German plates.![]()
#172
Oh man I sure wish I was in Holland already! I would love to go to this one..
I will be there next year for sure!!
#173
#174
I am still going to run summers. I think the parking lot across the street would be best. The other two fill up pretty quickly and it might be hard to get/keep everyone together there. We will only be coming up on sunday. We should be at the track around 10. If everyone shows who says they are coming we will be leaving K-town with 20+ cars.
#175
I just washed my summers, will go on saturday morning before we leave.
Jeff, you have my number, right? I'm planning grandstand, too. Likely will arrive around 12 or 13. Maybe with muffins.
