    Thanks.

I need to note. A lot, and I mean a lot, of people are intending to drive this daily. Hell, some people are looking to drive it year round in the upper east coast........hmmmmm........I'm very perplexed as to why you would even do that. This is one of the nicer A1's you can get and you want to drive it in salt, mud and 2' of snow? Hell....I cringe at even thinking about people having this parked outside

People, this isn't that vehicle, it's 3/4" off the ground...it has a Shrick aluminum 5 quart racing oil pan* that will shatter on East Coast/bad roads upon a fast & first impact.....has 15" rims with the smallest rubber you can buy and only a preference of driving.....equipped with a 4 puck racing clutch (engagement happens in a ~1/2" of movement).

Some people want to fly in and drive it across the country, your coin, it belongs to you, but why you'd endure all the rocks chips and what ever else may happen it's probably even cheaper to have it shipped then fly in and gas up all the way back.

She's very very low, and very fast.
If you're going to drive it a lot, and want to leave it simple and not swap pans or worry about clearance.....install 17"s (had 17"s on before) & call it a day. Currently with 15"s there's not a lot of clearance, if wanting to keep 15"s, I'd raise the front (on coil overs) a little and use the less aggressive JW Jerm plates (~$60) to lift back up the rear to match the front. It has JW Jerm plates on it now.

    What hits on bad roads?

    1) The center under carriage stiffening brace, it's steal and you can't really break or hurt it if you leave it on but it unbolts in ~5 minutes, and you can toss it.
    2) As this A1 has a sub frame, it also have an undercarriage transmission mount attached to it, this is the lowest point. It's also steel, and I was going to move it up/off to the side so it no longer protrudes below the sub frame to ground out.

As per videos, I'm in Arizona, we don't have pot holes, we don't have cracks, we don't have freezes.....the way she sits and drives at this height can probably ONLY be achieved in Arizona. Even then, it'll still tag the ground here and there.

Your coin, but consider this a weekend warrior, for gods sake you'll thank me and yourself when you don't accumulate 5 years worth of dents, road chips and salt on it as you have another vehicle down the road.

*However also comes with professionally powder coated minty fresh steel pan and brand new Felt oil pan gasket. The Shrick pan is not really low at all...it's just front and center with nothing to protect it....it's just kinda sitting out ~front in a way.

    As for emissions:

It'll pass the strictest of tests; And the 4 tests that are done when in a strict state

    1) Tail pipe : Pass
    2) Gas cap : Pass
    3) For CA: Full gas tank vapor circulation system intact ass
    4) For CA: Positive crank case and valve cover vents must be plumped into intake system (it currently has cone filters for it to vent). ~2' of 1" hose to run from the block to the cold intake and from valve cover to cold intake and that's done : Pass (it actually had all this but replaced it with cleaner looking mini cone filters)

Keep in mind this is not an A1 passing emissions....this is a Mark III GTI passing emissions....all current and modern systems.....piece-o-cake California.

Could you post a pic of a person sitting in the driver seat and the door open. I really like the truck and am interested, but don't think I'll fit. The dash seems to take up a lot of space. Beautiful vehicle.

Bump..if there was any way to get this home besides driving it, I'd be on it.

Private trucking to the east coast is $3000... don't want a low-bidder budget place driving this up and down the ramps of 5 car movers on the way over 3 week...way more damage than the rock-chips.

Shipping is ~$600 via 14 day notice for a car.
Shipping is ~$200 via 14 day notice for a motorcycle.

Air conditioned, fully trailered enclosed climate controlled rig wouldn't even be $3,000.

PM Sent. You must know something I don't and I'm willing to learn.

I just shipped a Fiat to AZ (near Sedona) via private carrier and it was 2400...cheapest with one truck, one driver, no swaps between trucks at hubs (i.e. no idiot driving it). Fully insured residential drop. 3/4 inches from the ground will require special transportation and loading considerations above that.

    Sent Pm back.

Rates maybe changed a little, yet year ago 14 day notice on my Stinger motorcycle was $180 otd and did that, and shipping for a Gruppe V GTI was actually like $700 as it was $2,000 miles away. Do keep in mind for the car that was an open trailer.

For the clearance, the front is on coil overs so I can go quite high.

Another thought for others, if going to install say 17"s and not worry about anything. If buying from an outfit, you can have wheels shipping here (so it cost's you nothing in shipping) and I can install them. You'd need:

    - 4x100 ~35et 17x8 rims
    - 205/40/17 tires.
