I just finished getting my car ready for the upcoming season. We still are a couple months away from starting here in Idaho, but figured we could start a thread for you guys to show off what you'll be racing this year as you finish your prep on the cars.

    1997 BMW 328is.

I raced it completely stock last year except for 225/45-17 Star specs. Last week I put in a harness to hold me in the seat and installed Ground Control built coils with Koni shocks and Eibach springs. 525F/550R.

Tell us about your car for the 2012 season!

Give us time. Traffic on this forum gets slow during the off season. I haven't even started prepping yet... and the car is under a cover in my back yard covered in snow right now.

And my car is kinda boring... '88 E30... black... basically looks stock, except a little lower.

Are you actually running this season? As I've learned, houses don't corner particularly well

I hope to run as many events as I can. Unfortunately, the renovation on Robyn's house is moving slower than I'd hoped.

Going back to regular E-Stock so I can have my ass handed to me by bombardius. It's a typical ES Miata, minus 0.2 liters of displacement.

And I promised myself I'd get this out to at least one event this year. I anticipate it going...poorly.

Sold last year's ride in the fall. (ASP):

So this year it is back to my trusted twinscrew stand-by, now with a new engine. (SMF):

Or running my supercharged coupe as a backup just to change things up. (SSM):

If I don't see you bring the alfa at least once, I'll protest the hell out of those wheels on the miata

No big changes here for 2012. Same '93 Miata in STS with few changes. We have new 7.5" 6UL wheels and will get another set of shaved R1Rs for those. We'll take a set of 15x7 Kosei K1 and get full-tread R1Rs for rains. I'll go a hair more aggressive on the alignment and try to mod a ratty stock seat to make it lighter and more butt-holding.

Plans for this year is to do all local SCCA, Autocrossers Inc and maybe even BMWCCA events. We'll do the SCCA Tour at the Meadowlands and a second trip to Lincoln for the national championships.

The car's pretty much de-stickered now but I'm pretty sure that's a temporary thing.

Going to still campaign this little monster locally and nationally. maybe make it to nats this year. No big changes for the year so far. just working on dialing in the wheel tracks for the tyre change over the winter.

*I also provide driving instruction at our events so who knows what treats are in store for the year ahead.

I don't know if I'll ever get around to using those 225mm Hoosiers. I ran two other regions' events on Kumhos last fall and liked them. I thought the Kumhos had more predictable breakaway/behavior at the limit than I remember Hoosiers having.

I'll bring the Alfa sometime. Bought a second set of wheels a few weeks ago. So now I have to race it to justify that purchase.

Thanks. Are you going to auto-x this season? If so, give me a shout.
I plan to be at most of the local events this year with nice weather.

If I can ship it up from south flordia, I'm going to run my old Hyundai tiburon in rally cross. Won stock fwd with it last year (by luck). Want to run m2 with it.

As for autocross. I have my 03 jetta 1.8t. Never autocrossed before, so I'm not sure what class it'd be in. Right now it has a stage 2 tune and an intake (filter and small intake tube on maf). Would that put me in sm? My first autocross is gonna be at waterfest so I know what class I'm in for that. just not sure for scca.

If a Stage 2 tune increases boost levels, it'll put you in D Street Prepared (DSP). Some local regions (Philly, for example) have a "street tire prepared" class for cars like this to run against so you don't get mauled by a true SP car running on R-comps. Most common suspension mods on a Mk IV would class you in STC without the tune, depending on your tire and wheel size (7" and 225 section width limits). A limit slip diff would bump the latter into STX (still no boost increase, but with an increase in wheel & tire allowances). Wheels and tires are unlimited in SP.

Here are some updated photos. Next on the to-do list: cut fenders, install flares, replace cut tires (anyone selling any 13" Hoosiers?).

my first season auto-xing this car started modding it w/o the intention of auto-xing it and ended up having to run it this year due to getting t-boned by a drunk driver at a light in my 89 gli. i havnt had time to properly set it up for auto-x. running on stock suspension and the engine mods alone put it into DSP, therefor its slooooooooooooooow for its class
