This happened on the way to a Wrong Fitment Crew meet yesterday. You can check out my coverage of the event at http://v2lab.com/theory/?p=6035, but this video is great either way.

I viewed the video in full res about 10 times and something flashes by the driver side front or rear tire on the Z just a second before it jerks left.

So, their wheels & tires fit wrong, and then fail at speed.

    Might well have been.

I find it especially weird in this case NOT to hear any of the requisite cussing from the camera car driver. Maybe they're a mute, but do mutes ever go to car shows?

there has to be a cause there, either a suspension or tire failure seems most likely. doesn't look like they were racing...just cruising.

both drivers were very lucky there.

I am shocked, shocked, that a car with the wrong wheel fitment, wrong tire fitment and wrong suspension geometry lost control and crashed. Good thing I joined the Proper Fitment Crew.

looking at the video I think something broke on the right side of his car(steering related). By the time he hits the other car the left wheel is turned to the right, like he is trying to correct the car and the right wheel looks very wobbly when the camera car passes.

I am not a hellaflush fan but why are we blaming this on improper tire/wheel fitment right away.....because TCl=retard with a popsicle stick?

Listen again, you can hear the guy on the right downshift, floor it then let off to shift to the next gear.

yes, watch it in higher quality and make the video bigger. When he swerves left, his left front wheel is pointing to the right relative to the car, suggesting that he is trying to correct, also it looks like the front moves and not the back slipping out which also point to a steering related cause and less so towards bald tires.

So how do you suppose the black 350Z continued on to the event as shown in the above picture?
