Thread: Interest for a Group Buy for GForce / APTuning 02A 02J Gearset

  1. 01-24-2012 02:39 PM #1
It's tax return time and wanted to see how many people might be interested in this gearset. 3rd and 4th gear would be the revised straight cut versions which have seemed to be a better design and hold more power than the previous versions. Just want to see if maybe we can all help each other out and save ourselves some money to get our cars running again and/or more reliably for 2012. I will get us all the info we need as soon as we get real interest.

You can refer to this page:
    http://www.aptuning.com/index.php?pa...mart&Itemid=14

    1st Gear Ratios to choose from: 2.67 / 3.00 / 3.40

    2. SUPERCHARGED-JETTA - APT 1-4th - 2.67 1st gear
    3. cabzilla - APT 1-4th - 2.67 1st gear

they have been out of stock for over a year now. i cant even get a second for my trans. the product is great but when they stop caring about making the product and you can not get parts to fix it what good is it? i really hope APTuning sees this because i am not the only one that wants to fix a broken AP trans.... its not like we are asking for the parts for free or even a discount, we just want to fix our $h!t

Been on the fence about ordering one of those reduced 02a sets but man the wait for replacements parts isn't encouraging.

I been preaching about their BS customer service and ****ty gearsets for close to 8 years now. LOL. need an 02A gearset from them, you'll have to wait for revision 492,246,779.2. Estimated release date: "unknown"

my friend bought and fully paid for a gearset, pinion brace and a peloquin from APTuning back in April (the 2.67 1st gear) then around July he changed it to the 3.4 1st as its what is in-stock and want his trans back so he can move with his project as they (APTuning) doesnt have any time frame on when they are getting the 2.67 or 3.0 1st in-stock...

but till now they dont even have any real answer for him... its annoying and very un professional... they keep saying that they need a seal for it for the last 3 weeks... wtf is that

I didnt see this sooner or i would have replied.

3.4 sets I currently have a couple left in stock. In regards to your friends set, he was told numerous times before ordering there was no eta on the 2.67, but insisted on ordering so he got the first set once they become available. Then when he changed his mind I think it was right before waterfest, and there were approx 10 transmissions ahead of him. Im sorry for the delay but once he changed his mind it has to go in the order they were already set.

As far as parts I know it sucks not having replacement parts sometimes but gears don't take a couple days to make and must be made in quantity which costs alot of $$$ to sit on the shelf. On some things I'm at the mercy of Gforce at the same time. When I put an order in, it could take 6weeks or 6+ months it all depends on their work load at the time. Also gotta keep in mind I gotta order stuff based on what I can sell, I would love to stock all the spare parts I could ever need but also doesn't benefit to order a bunch of a couple gears in hopes they are made in a timely manner but then at the same time not have any sets to sell. Ive heard this before and I get the impression that people think someone should never be out of stock on an item and thats just not realistic.

If anyone needs parts let me know and as always if there is any feasible way I can come up with parts to get you going I will. I have stole parts from kits, from out own transmissions, etc to get customers up and running, but if the parts just aren't physically available my hands are tied. In the future if anyone has concerns or needs something, just email me(I check it like 100 times a day), as asking on vortex usually wont get a timely answer as Im not on here much other then for the threads I start personally.
