Is there currently anything out there that could help minimize hair loss and possibly rethicken whatever is left? I started loosing my hair right around graduating high school. It was and still is bad enough that I can grab the hair near the widows peak and pull and ill have 3-5 hairs in each hand every time. Anyone here have luck and success with any kind of treatments, perscription drugs, or over the counter producst??

Nope. It's inevitable. There will be a point where I switch to shaving bald, right now its not that bad yet. Learn to accept it and it won't bother you as much. Save your money and buy some nice hats instead if it bothers you too much. Nothing out there works. Well, I take that back, rogain works a little bit, but you have remember to use it twice a day for like 6 months before you will see anything, and it smells.

I have. Its been falling out for 6 years getting worse by the year. For the last couple of years I've just shaved my head using my old beard trimmer @ the number 4 setting. Just miss a full head of hair and its cold in the winter when I forget a hat lol.

been shaving my head since I was 23 (30 now), I figured better to accept it now than to become the guy with the bad haircut trying to hide it.

It's been said that hairloss is passed down from the mother's side. So look at that family photo album and see how many people are bald there.

Look into the side effects of Finasteride very closely before using it.

From wiki: Side effects of finasteride include impotence (1.1% to 18.5%), abnormal ejaculation (7.2%), decreased ejaculatory volume (0.9% to 2.8%), abnormal sexual function (2.5%), gynecomastia (2.2%), erectile dysfunction (1.3%), ejaculation disorder (1.2%) and testicular pain. According to the product package insert, resolution occurred in men who discontinued therapy with finasteride due to these side effects and in most men who continued therapy.

In some cases, the impotence is permanent. It's thought that a compromised brain/blood barrier as well as a compromised immune system allows, "the penetration of Finasteride into the brain to alter 5-alpha reductase in the DHT-responsive regions responsible for sexual function"

As if the bold wasn't bad enough....

gynecomastia - Gynecomastia or Gynaecomastia, /ˌɡaɪnɨkɵˈmæstiə/, is the abnormal development of large mammary glands in males resulting in breast enlargement. The term comes from the Greek γυνή gyné (stem gynaik-) meaning "woman" and μαστός mastós meaning "breast." The condition can occur physiologically in neonates (due to female hormones from the mother), in adolescence, and in the elderly (Both in adolescence and elderly it is an abnormal condition associated with disease or metabolic disorders). In adolescent boys the condition is often a source of distress, but for the large majority of boys whose pubescent gynecomastia is not due to obesity, the breast development shrinks or disappears within a couple of years.[1]

and btw, does Abnormal ejeculation turn me into Peter North? Cuz bitch tits could be worth the risk if I could snipe bitches with baby batter.

I was going to post Propecia, and it's side effects too... then I read the side effects of finasteride, did some googling, then realised Propecia is just a brand name, and actually is finasteride.

I think they mean that men were ejaculating with less force, not more...

Also, from what little research I did into it, I think that once you stop using, the effects wear off and you end up back where you started (give or take).

I had a lot, a lot of hair when I was younger. In my mid 20s started loosing a lot of it, by the early 30s I had small but visible bold spot on top of my head. I decided to just cut it all off and been sporting a buzz cut for the last 5 years and haven been to a barber since. Now I can't stand having more than a weeks worth of hair growth on my head

I am a hairstylist, and one of my clients started losing her hair and went to see a doctor and he recommended that she started taking Biotin. And you can pick it up at any local health food store for about 10 bux. After 3-4 months she started having new baby hairs grow in and now her hair grows faster and thicker. So give that a try before you just give up and shave it all off

The fact of the matter is, if your going bald your going to be bald. Everyone in my family is going, is thin, or is bald. I somehow have managed to keep a god amount of hair on my head. Out of everyone in my family they all said I would be bald early due to all the dye and bleach I put in my hair when I was younger.

About 2 years ago I noticed the hair line going back. I found a bottle of head and shoulders hair endurance in Target. I googled it, read about it and decided to go for it. I always had a dry scalp and used H&S often. For the past two years I have not noticed any more loss or thinning! Could be coincidental, could be the product.

Short of plugs or transplants, I'm not sure there is a chemical that really works long term.

    Just embrace it.

Once my hairline got goofy I started clipping it short, no guard on the Wahl, once about every 2 weeks. Been doing it that way for about 16 years and have never regretted it.

You can try DHT inhibiters, like stinging nettle or prescribed ones, but that is essentially why you are losing your hair- provided you are healthy otherwise.

What I can't figure out is why my hair is retreating from my head to my back.
It's all about squats and deads.
