I also moved from the Seattle area to CS in 2006. Most of the CS dubbers that I knew of seemed to have moved away, including myself.

The closest groupings are in Houston. Check out europeanag.com

Henry, the parts guy at the dealer in Bryan is really cool if you need any parts.

Just joined/ bought my first VW. (not that I havent been an enthusiast for years, just now was able to buy brand new). Was also lookin for more VW people around CS. I currently know.. 1, though I frequently see a badass black 30th anniversary cruisin around in my neighborhood, never talked to the guy though.

Dang, well at least you will be closer to the Houston group meets. Yeah I work in Anderson, (like ten miles east of navasota).

sounds good, as am I whenever people start showing up here with the vdubs. there's a bunch here, but mostly just consumers, not enthusiasts.

22 year College Station resident here! I dont see too many VWs running around here with owners who seem to be enthusiasts... A couple here and there on rare occasion, but mostly bro-dozers with black smoke billowing from their stacks and 85773" exhaust tips.

As far as car entertainment and events, Thursday night meets behind TGI Fridays on University for the normal CSCC (imports) meetup. Theres also a regular (if I recall correctly/if it hasnt changed) muscle and domestics meet at Veterans Park on Wed nights.

TAMSCC Autocross events on the MASSIVE empty airfields (Top Gear style) of Riverside A&M campus several times during the school semesters and during the summer as well. Texas World Speedway road course track also hosts several SCCA races, NASA races, ChumpCar 24h, Drivers Edge and High Performance Driving events during the year.

Not to mention we arent too terribly far from Austin or Houston, so the meets and races there are also very do-able! Dont forget Houston is host to the annual TX2K events, Import Face Off events in Houston at Royal Purple Raceway, IFO @ Texas Motorsports Park south Dallas, IFO San Antonio, Austin has a brand new F1 track, and Cars and Coffee are all over as well!
