I know, but we came to an agreement that I would get my "sports car" and she gets her Mini. The Mini Cooper S is fun, but from my limited experience they are a pain in the rear to do your own wrenching, plus they are not too hot on the reliability department. The do handle better than the GLI (in stock form), but in terms of performance it doesn't even come close.
The market for a souped up Jetta is limited, so it will probably end up going back to stock and in some dealership's used car parking lot.![]()

Take it from an ex MINI Coopr As owner. Stay far far away. They are fun to drive but cost a fortune to work on. Besides, they will ride you @$$ on any mods. They gave ne $h!t when I changed the exhaust. The exhaust was purchased from the dealer too. It was a JCW back can and they wanted to deny me warranty coverage. Screw the MCS and go get a Golf R. TRUST ME!

Nice, nice. Saw this GLI this weekend and I wanted to take it out for a spin.
About the Mini, I'll try to steer her towards getting another VW, maybe a TDI this time; but it's up to her really.
