Nothing?! No date!? Seems this should be an exciting chapter in Audi land. Guess this forum used to be more popular than it is now. Guess I'll just keep dreaming of the RS5

Looked around this forum and see little info or rumors so I figured I would start the thread. Are we getting the RS5 here in the States? Any thoughts on powerplant and expected MSRP? And most importantly, WHEN WILL IT ARRIVE? I want so badly for Audi to make something that can compete with the C63 AMG . I have the money eagerly awaiting. So far, if I want to get an Audi with the kind of numbers the Merc has, I'd have to spend much more than the completely optioned out merc costs.
If any dealers see this and and know answers and are in the process of taking deposits, please contact.
Audi, take my money please! (but only if you give me something exciting!)

Feel like the press releases have been talking about its arrival since 2010. The dealers here still have no clue it was almost as if they have never heard of it. Not the most efficient way of doing business. Audi sure loves the rumor mill. Would love to be able to formulate a plan on how to get my grubby hands on this limited run for the states but is tough to do so if this car really has no firm evidence to go on other than the "it's confirmed!" exclamations in the press which have been promising it's arrival since 2010.

Apparently, dealers can now place orders for the RS5. Mine contacted me. Now I want to know when the RS5 cabriolet may arrive. One of the mags said by the end of this year.

Talked to the dealers on east coast. Not taking orders. Don't even know mrsp yet

I should have said that they are taking deposits, which are refundable, since they haven't announced pricing. I was apparently the 4th one to gave my dealer a $1,000 deposit. I don't know when they'll be able to take orders.

I've been waiting patiently for two years for this car to arrive but the way things are progressing it seems as if the car is going to change body styles before we see anything. My plan has been for the RS5 to get to the states, turn into a 2 or 3 years old used car so that I can buy one and install an APR supercharger. At this point it seems as if it is never going to happen.

Here are some US spec pics i've taken from the NAIAS a while back.

Well- I got first evidence that the dealers have heard about the car finally here on East coast. They attend Audi school fom time o time and the most recent class had some obscure details about option packages, color etc... But still no concrete ideas on pricing. The one guy tried to tell me somewhere around 80k. I'm worried they will be putting a premium on top of the MSRP of this car. That price range is quickly taking it to no mans land. Comparablly equipped C63 AMG and M3 ( Which have better performance figures) are in the 65-75 range. I'd like to see one and drive one before taking this leap of faith based on magazine reviews. Will its comfort and style blow us away and make up for it's performance figures?

Still no official pricing. Anybody got any real dealer scoops.?

If it's anything like the TT-RS, the pricing won't be known until the cars hit port.
Not a great practice, but seems pretty standard.
If only it was about 500 pounds lighter. . .

Honestly Audi. Lost interest. Moved on to other possibilities.
