Thread: FS Genuine OEM bi-xenon housings only

  1. 02-28-2012 02:59 AM #36
Question: Are these currently on a car? If not - was the leveling in any way tweaked with?

I'd have to see how poor I am going to be after my APR flash and intake install......

none of those parts are included, just the housings are for sale...

auto level is mostly a sensor in the rear suspension and a controller in the headlight with a wire connecting them. How and why would some one "tweek" them?

    What, headlights or AL?

    Headlights, yes

AL, no... auto level works when there is a heavy load in the rear, the sensor detects the rear is riding low, which makes headlights point higher, and sends a signal to the controller to lower the headlight aim while the weight is in the back...

IMHO, Its a nice idea but, I think its worthless and just another high quality German electronic part that will cost me money and time to fix, I WILL disable it when it goes bad.

One last question - where does the ballast go? I mean - how does it mount or where is it hidden?

    As I understand it...

AFS and Auto level are optional, and no need to upgrade controler if it is midline when upgrading from halogens to make the hi-beams work...

Hmm... really doesn't sound like too hard of an install coming from halogens. This is next on my list after some other stuff that should be happening soon. I'll hit you up if I can get that far this summer!
