Picked up a shell casing tumbler from cabelas, corn husk media, and flitz polishing solution. Saved me hours of cleaning each bolt. Call me lazy, or what you want. But simply the best $60 spent recently

Before letting them sit in coca cola overnight:

After coke on the left, after 4 hours of tumbler time on the right:

Bolts all done: Brand new looking bolts, and saving $500

Nuts done after 4 hours of tumbling: Now the nuts weren't polished, or even sanded prior to the cleaning, so if i were to wire wheel them, or maybe even let them sit in coca cola over night, they may have came out better then they did. But there on the inside of the wheel, so i'm not worried
      Before:

      After:

Bolts in finished wheel, center caps weren't finished yet, but you get the idea

Basically made this for all wondering how well the tumblers work

Links to the stuff I used: (hope this is ok with mod's)

No problem I don't mind helping out, I don't rub on my coil, but I took the helpers out also so that may help. My winter tires are 225/45/17 and I do rub inner fender well, but not on the coil or perch itself.

This is a before of the nuts. I am really anxious to see the outcome of these to see what the full potential of the tumbler is. Updated picture's in a few hours

      Exactly

As requested, a picture of my nuts to show scale. I did 60 bolts at a time, and put all the nuts in at once, just so the motor wouldn't overwork

Put some polishing solution in with the media and nuts:

Turn it on, pit the lid on and wait! You can periodically check the material your cleaning/polishing to see the consistency and to see if you need to add more flitz

      interesting use.

knew about tumblers. knew what they did. never thought too much about doing it myself.

      haha..

Really though, that's cool. I soaked mine in some type of solvent then sent them out to get black chromed. I wish I would have used this "tumbler" method before sending them off to the chromer.

Project complete. Overall was a great success in my eyes, from start to finish took less then a day.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone, and hopefully this will help some of you in the future!
