Vw Acolyte & Sales @ AMI, you guys have helped out a lot with getting measurements down for Jetta S and Jetta SE and other models. So far, the only place ive seen coilovers for the Jetta S is at Fifteen52. ST by KW makes the 50mm kits. Although, my friend just purchased the Solo Werks
S1's and Im very impressed with driveability, handling, and ride height. Cheers to AMI for selling good coils for cheap

Hello Jaykaufman101, I think that the answer to your question is worth repeating on the Second Page!

The Upper Mount/Bearing assembly is a wearable part that can degrade over time/miles, and is a pretty standard part to replace every 30-60K miles. It is also popular to get for some that like to pull their front struts in and out quickly, as you need to remove the OEM ones from your factory suspension when you switch to coilovers.

In the case of the MK6 Jetta, I would say No they are not necessary at this time depending on your mileage and if you have any issues right now with any suspension noises during turning.

Although I do have have many customers that purchase them with the coilover kit so they can keep the factory pieces in as one unit, and not need to use a spring compressor for installation.

The Solo Werks kit itself is $499 shipped to you, and if you wish to add the mounts & bearings they are an additional $65 for the pair, no extra shipping.

Total Kit + Mounts = $564 delivered to you

was on a limited time schedule this weekend so I was able to get my fronts installed. All I can say is.........could not be happier! They were a pain in the ass to install haha but they ride sooo smooth and go low enough for now finger gap in the front AND no rubbing. It may even out when I throw the rears in next weekend. Anyone have any idea if the rears are easier to install? I hope so..... Bottom line is that im super happy I bought these things! Great job guys!

Hello noeffectx, thanks for the question.

While our customers do not indicate the full model of their vehicle in their orders, so we cannot confirm that any of our customers have a GLI, we have been told that the rear suspension on the GLI is the same multi link setup as the MK5 vehicles and the 2012 GTI's.

We have personally installed a kit on the MK5 Jetta with the multi link independent rear, and it works great!

The kit shipped within the lower 48 states is $499 and the front mounts are an additional $65, for a total of $564.

Hello qduk, thanks for the questions! I will answer them in the order that you asked (except for #1, as it is a statement!)

2. How much are these to install at a shop? I have no experience at all.

Installation costs vary depending on the hourly rate that your shop would charge. I would consider 5 hours labor + alignment to be a fair estimate.

3. Do I need to replace anything else when putting in these coilovers?

While it is not necessary to use anything else when installing these coilovers, many of our customers have opted to purchase new upper strut mounts and bearings with their kits to keep the factory units together as one piece, and avoid the need for a spring compressor.

4. Are they still 499 shipped?

That is correct, they are $499 shipped within the lower 48 states.

5. If I go to trade my car in in 2 years for it matter I have coilovers?

While it should not matter to any dealer that you have installed aftermarket parts on your car, there are many who may consider it to have devalued the vehicle for trade in purposes. On the other hand, others consider the addition of aftermarket parts a positive and therefore your car can be worth more... It will all depend on your dealer.

Personally I keep most of my original parts (if they are in working condition) such as the suspension just in case I wish to put it back to stock before selling it or trading it in.
