I have the ultra lows on my car and I have none of the issues that people with ST's have. IMO they ride absolutly awesome!

The rear camber has nothing to do with the suspension you get.

You can buy ULs from tire rack or ECS.

Make sure to choose the JSW specific ones.

    Thanks.

I am still deciding on what wheels to get, but is probably going to be 18's. From what I have been reading on the web, I guess the best would be a et35 setup with 225/40/18 tires?

    That might rub.

You want 8.5" ET 45 in order to use 225/40-R18

an 18x8.5 +35 with a 225/40 will most likely rub bad.

I have 18x8.5 +36 witha 225/40 falken 512 ( runs narrow like an other tire companys 215/40) and it rubbed a little bit with -2 camber.

I just bought 18x8 45mm Audi RS3 replicas with 215/45/18 tires but the company just emailed me and said that they only have 35mm offset available. Is this a big deal?

I'm running ultra lows too. I feel like they can be a little stiffer. Any of you other guys with ultra lows get your frames c notched? I am constantly banging my axle on the frame on the passenger side. And how are you guys dealing with the front camber?

not notched here but I suspect im starting to rub axle now that the springs are starting to settle down.

Camber im good with, its not annoying unless im turning hard and hit a bigger bump but you could always get a set of mkv camber plates and run those. I will probably end up getting a set eventually

would 19 x 8.5 wheel with 35 offset fit properly? or would i rub?

planning on lowering on neuspeed springs as well.

planning on lowering on neuspeed springs as well.

If you are just lowering it on springs and choose the correct tire, you shouldn't rub much at all.

I am running an 8.5 et38 on my wagon in the front, lowered on KW's and running a 205 tire and I don't rub. If you are trying to run a 225 you will have issues.

After seeing Biggu's car in person and hearing how he likes them, I'm tempted to ditch my fk's for some ultra lows.

I want to ask it here since you guys have played with offsets:

19 by 8 with 215/35/19 and 19 by 9.5 215/35/19 on H&R race springs with spring stops (OEM stops, i was told they can be used on aftermarket springs as well).

I'm running a lot of stretch to avoid rubbing, i don't want to mess up my fenders but I want the rear dish. Do you guys think i'll be OK? I'm not going too low so hopefully no rubbing.

    Thanks guys.
    Justin

Ya you will be fine, be sure to trim the bump stops some. Also do the fender screw mod too.

Just wondering how my BBS wheels are going to fit. The size and specs are below, but I'm planning on going with ultra lows to drop it a little more.

    BBS Rs
    262 17x8 et35
    321 17 x9 et45

Right now they are getting painted, polished and re-drilled. They should be done tomorrow just need tires, and coil-overers.
It's ok if you disagree with me, I can't force you to be right.

Just noticed you're in cleveland, how is your JSW coming along? Also, the bump stops you think should be trimmed are the ones i'm purchasing correct? I didn't think I had any factory ones in currently.

One more thing, do you work at ECS?

Well I need to sell the gti 1st, a RS jsw just came in to my local dealer (amherst oh / where Im from) with everything I want!

Trim the stock(current) or the new ones(which dont come with most) - i cut mine down a lot with my current air set up on the gti. When I was on fk coils only trimmed the 1st notch.

Yes, I do work at ECS

Im getting a 19x8.5 ET35 wheels, and planning on lowering with koni coil overs. And after reading this thread, it means that the offset of the wheels are a bad idea? No matter what size of tires Im getting?
