Yeah I am hoping to have my car together for the Great Lakes show which is coming up in a week now just waiting for my wheels

I love my Ultra Lows they are great only thing I can say is they mean what they say on how far it drops your car you can be low or slammed and that's all you have for adjustment options

I have not done the fenders yet but it is on the to do list in future mods. I had already slightly damaged the driver fender with my wheel/tire by hitting a big pot hole while swerving to miss a car that cut me off. As you can see in the pictures the miss alignment is not noticaable from a couple feet away, but it bugs the hell out of me.

I also need to pull the bumper back off so that I can install the gti washer fluid res. The stock one will not clear the gti fog light housing.

Those of you running hr ultra lows or any coils, what did you do in regards to front camber? I am getting pretty bad camber wear in the front with the hr ultra lows winded half way down.

Did you get a wheel alignment? If not time for an alignment after the suspension settles.

The places I went to weren't able to align my jsw. I assumed camber Plates were needed? Any recommendations for shops in SoCal that will align my vehicle? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure its camber wear and not toe wear? My front camber is in spec with my ST's all the way down (right around 1.8" - 2.0"), but my toe was WAAAY out of spec, causing really uneven tire wear in the front.

Get an alignment and you'll be fine. Search your local forums for places that deal with lowered cars. The only one that comes to mind is EF1 in Signal Hill, but if I remember correctly theres a guy who does amazing track setups and corner balancing in Torrance...

alot of people get confused about camber and toe wear. if its in the very inside edge of the tire like a 1-1.5 inch section thats most likely toe. if its gradually all the way through the tire thats camber. camber wear does wear but toe wears tires 99% quicker than camber.

Not necessarily. Front tires should wear similar to rear tires in respect to camber. If you are seeing an issue with toe on your front tires, it is usually indicated by feathering of the tread blocks.

Camber wear would be the wear of the inside of the tire (front or rear). Basically your tires sit like this / \ when your car is lowered. That excessive camber is what causes the inside portion of the tire to wear faster.

There are many other factors that can cause tires to wear irregularly, the best advice is to get an alignment but you may need to purchase camber plates for the frontto correctly dial in the camber.

Just go to the dealer. It's usually $60 to $80 and takes about an hour.

I wish I lived in a neighborhood that wasn't rock-n-hole country. But it is what it is. Being that I have a nice skid plate now, I need to raise my up more so that the rythem on my rock-n-hole plate is not so frigging loud when I hit the highs and lows on lousy county road crew work. I'm looking for front springs that are color coded

    1 pink 4green 170 #"

    4pink 2green 170 #"

    2blue 2white 170 #"

    3pink 1green 170.5 #"

    1 purple 171 #"

    2white 4blue 175 #"

    2blue 4white 175.5#"

Could be a good chance some of you still have some front and rear springs that would work on my 03 jetta sedan and would like to get them out of the garage/shop and have some extra $'s in your pocket. Please get back to me if you have some.

Yah, I know it isn't the right place to post, but it seems like it is a better place to post for springs.

    Thanks guys

    Remove your bumper!?

Thats lame, We have different sized blocks/ramps that we use when pulling porsches, audis, vw's onto the rake. Not to mention half the guys I work with drive low cars. If you were in WA we would hook you up, sorry you have to deal with that!

On a plus note...... Your car looks good

err.. aligning your car at stock height and then lowering the car again will change the alignment. You need to have the alignment done at the car's current ride height.

Look around for an alignment place that has a pit you can drive onto.. they'll be able to work on any car. Around here there's a couple of large Les Schwab's with an alignment pit.. one of which has a VW enthusiast who makes sure to take care of the cars

    Not even that low:
Thats crazy...you live in so cal, theres plenty of slammed, stretched, poked, kitted, modified cars down there, and theres plenty of shops that cater to them. I dont know your exact area, but try calling places like GMG Racing, Road Race Engineering, EF1 Motorsports or even just google "lowered car alignment moreno valley." Someone out there can do it, they just need to use boards/ramps to get your car on the rack.

I went to just about every alignment shop in Monterey and finally found a place that said no problem, $90 later with the specs I wanted, I was out the door.
