Yeah I am pretty impressed with their stuff so far. I am really looking forward to changing out the lower control arms with the lightweight TT replacement and the Whiteline bushings. Should create way better responsiveness at the front end.

Had WL spherical endlinks like those on the last ride. Very nice pieces but get chatty with age pretty fast. WL makes great products but for street driving I replaced the links after a season with fixed bushing style links. With a build like yours I don't think that matters though.

Are the endlinks on the R, or GTI for that matter, weak or prone to bending/breaking? Just curious.

Just checked them out on WLs site and those Look like they are sealed. Is that the case? If so that would address the issues with the ball getting chatty with age. Would it be possible to be a pic of that? Do you plan on running aftermarket bars?

Its hard to tell if they would end up being problem area, but I am from the school of thought that if there is a way to fortify what to me at least appears like a weak link (very punny, eh?!) I'm going to do it. I guess I feel that with some of the driving I will be doing with this car, I need to jus have total faith in all the chassis components. The OEM piece has a tiny connecting bar that is all of 1/4" in thickness. Its probably fine for a car that is around 250hp, but I plan to go well beyond double that.

Curious though, how long ago did you run your WL end links?

I can run out to the garage and take a pic for you so you can see what WL is actually shipping currently. I'll post up later tonight or in the AM.

So they look sealed up pretty well. Is this design different than what you had? Did they used to be more "open to the elements"? As far as sways, I am waiting until Black Forest does those Stabila bars. BFI is one of the best companies out there and I want to run their stuff whenever possible because #1 it always works as advertised, and #2 it always works as advertised!

Christmas can never get here soon enough when one has an order in with INA! Seriously though, I am excited to get your set-up on this car.

Haha! Brendan you are the ONLY person who has seen the current stockpile! I keeps it on the DL, just a bit of new stuff teased every few days just because nothing is on the actual car yet!

I am hooked on this thread now. I just grabbed a JSW from Boardwalk a week a go and am seriously looking at buying an R. This thread is making that choice a lot harder. Great parts buildup you have going on. Who is going to be doing the engine work for you? I will send a pm, as I have a few more questions too.

Aw, dude that is exactly my question as well. I am still missing 3 vital pieces. HPFP, injectors and that little thing they call a turbo. I hope my last parts arrive on monday or tuesday so I can get this thing poppin'. I may have missed it, but do you have your car back now?

Good for you, supporting Boardwalk. I'm down to show some PDA's for them, because so far they have treated me really well, and they are mod friendly to boot which is +++ in my book. PM answered and as far as engine work only 2 people are touching this car during its build. BSH in Arizona and Tomas Sport Tuning in Berkeley, CA. If you have never gone there before I HIGHLY suggest it. Those guys are masters of the VW medium. Real talk!

i have nothing at the moment. car is still at 42. next weekend it will be back up here for real. at the moment there is just the 42 downpipe to the stock cat because they were not satisfied with the muffler solutions so they are making their own. The stock airbox is also back on because the prototype they made is being sent off to be laser cut for production. but once those things get completed they will just send me the parts. Both them and I would rather I have the car back instead of it just sitting on a lift for however many more weeks. NBD if you ask me.
