This post is inspired by how awful music sounds through my HTC Radar 4G. Despite encoding .mp3 files to 320kbps VBR, there is massive distortion at anything resembling moderate listening volume.
So out to the storage shed I went, and I dug out my old Panasonic SL-CT470 CD player and hooked it up to my cmoy bass boost amp and Grado SR60s. Flicked the unit on, with a copy of The National's High Violet Expanded Edition, and Terrible Love (alternate version) just sounds fantastic. Admittedly, a little cold.
I need to put together another vinyl listening station. It only takes a bad listening session with a digital music source to remind me how much I like analog from time to time.
