wow thats super close/tight fitment, did you know the wheels were going to be that close or did you mount them up hoping for the best? I'm planning on ordering some custom 3 piece wheels and want to get the offsets right...was hoping to run 9's/10's but DAYUUUM thats close...

I was certain about the outer lip/fender fitment, but i was still a bit unsure about the inner lip, specially fitting 9's in the front and 10's in the rear with such a high offset...and when the car is sitting at normal ride height, the inner lips actually sit even a tad bit closer to the struts.. my rears are et51 and front are et42 or (or 44, i forget)...the offset in the front can not be like a single mm higher...it's already too close for comfort..

depends what kind of fitment you're looking for...i don't think there is any way to tuck 10's in the rear, unless you had a lower offset and some ridiculous amount of camber, which i definitely wouldn't reccomend...and the you can tuck 9's in the front, shouldn't be a problem..but it is one hell of a tight fit...i'm finally trying to get around to have some time to roll and pull my fenders, specially the fronts....it's just a matter of time...i wish we had like 10 extra hours in a day..

9:05 PM UPDATE:

nothing special, and not really GLI related but...just little goodies for my camera that came in today..my old adapters broke, so i ordered some new ones..hopefully these are a little more durable. what does this mean? photoshoot? yes. soon enough!

have i mentioned how much i love ordering stuff online and then receiving it in the mail? for some reason, it's so much more exciting than just going to a store and purchasing something.

minor update...worked all night on the trunk...finally got it how i want it! all i have to do now is finish up the actual edge of the lip..what a pain.

this sucker works wonders

i think the lip added in will be perfect for the gli body lines

i had the idea to do a bmw csl type trunk but didnt think it would flow right
so the simple shave was the way to go hah

i feel ya...i think a simple shave will look good with the jetta though...simple and clean..will look real good

it would have been done already if it weren't for work..i've been stuck at work until super late these past days..today i am supposed to be out by mid afternoon..if so, i'm going straight to work on that thing and finishing it for good! everything is pretty much done..there is just a little, little bit of detail that needs some attention at the top of the lip...that edge is such a pain..i just neet some time really...hopefully today i'll finish that and prime it...i know i have been saying it and saying it...but yeah, it's just work. I'll keep you guys updated...did you finish your trunk already?

since no one has shown any love, i am bumping this sucker with another update..another teaser for an order i placed today.

and this is what my garage looks like as of this past weekend...and the mess only gets bigger day by day...

ohh, and i'm thinking about getting a second set of wheels, just for the hell of it...found a killer deal, but i'm still thinking about it.
