i am just as anxious man. i want to get it painted so bad. i am painting a set of wheels right now, so maybe as soon as i finish that up. i was also thinking about shaving the reflectors on the rear bumpers, but still undecided on whether i want to go through with all that trouble or not..

lol good point. i think i am going to keep them. you are right...i think if i shave it, it might be almost too plain out back..specially since i'm already doing the trunk...i will see how it looks with the trunk on, that way i can have a better idea...plus, it saves me some work from having to do that
and just for the hell of it...i've been wanting a set of these wheels ever since i had my s4. i just submitted an offer for a set...if they accept it, i have a new wheel projet coming my waynot that i need it with the other 4 sets of wheels sitting in my garage, but i just couldn't resist. we shall wait for an answer.
and a side project my bro has been working on in our garage...this is going on another GLI, but it's actually my buddy's mk4. hopefully a full shoot following soon after we install these tomorrow and replace them for his super duper rashed up RC's! haha...

this is the only one showing my mk6...and here are a few just so you guys can see how th wheels turned out...i think they look sick...and even better in person...stance is perfect IMO, too..
if anyone needs any wheels or anything like that painted locally, hit a brother up![]()

^^^ sure thing dude.
alright....i have come to a conclusion. I NEED MORE TIME. I never have any damn time to work on my car. It sucks...between work and the girlfriend and everything else, I never have any time. I would hate to make my mk6 jealous. She needs more love.
And on a side note. I have started funds for a BIG TURBO! BUTTTTTTTTTTTT.....now I am torn between going ahead with the big turbo and supporting mods vs. spending that money on a jet ski...what the hell do I do!?!?!?!?! What would you guys do?
As sick as it would be to have a 400+ whp MK6 on bags, it would be equally as fun to have a jet ski. I have already owned a bunch in the past, and I've got a boat right now, but damn..I really miss the jet ski! Living in South Florida makes it perfect for that kind of stuff too...and then when I think about it...big turbo is just going to get me into more trouble.
I am completely torn...WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?! lol..
#161
haha damn thats a hard pick
jet skis are awesome man and your in florida
and youve got plenty of time to do both do jet ski now for the summer
#162
I know man! Super difficult decision! Omg....
That's true..Florida is perfect for jet skis..and summer is right around the corner...I can always save up afterwards for a big turbo and all.....or my wedding that should be coming up soon
oh *$%#....what do I do? hahahaha.....At this exact moment, I am really leaning towards jet ski..I've already been to a couple dealers, and called some people...as soon as I find the right one, I will probably pull the trigger...and after that save up for big turbo....and if my girlfriend is reading this: don't worry babe, I got this.![]()

haha, oh damn! Welcome to the party man!
Mine didn't find out about the air until a month later, when my uncle asked me about it right in front of her...then i try to change the subject and the bastard starts asking questions like how much it cost, how it works, and bla bla bla...there was no escape.![]()

that's what i'm thinking...i might not even do stage 1 or 2 for now and leave it unmolested for the time being..maybe add in some little things, but nothing major motor wise..
they really are maintenance whores, that's for sure..i've owned a few in the past..luckily i never had much trouble with them...and being in florida, you have to be even more careful, because of salt water..there are a few lakes around, but it's just not the same thing. and agreed, you definitely have to ride the piss out of those things..it's impossible not to. they are so damn tempting.
and amen.
and amen again.

UPDATE:
Firstly....that annoying noise that sounded like rubbing mentioned earlier in the thread? it's not the rear bags at all! It seems like it's on of the bushings, possible from the control arm. The nosie is coming from the passenger rear. I have no idea what the hell it is. Took it to USP, had them check it out. They can't figure it out either. It is obviously a bushing...but what the hell? What brand new car has bushings go bad like that all of a sudden. Makes no sense. I'm going to take it back there with more time and have them take another poke at it. The noise doesn't happen all the time..but when it does...irritates the hell out of me!
Secondly...just reached 4k miles a few days ago. Wow! it seems like just yesterday that I got this car. Can't believe it.
Thirdly..about time, right Patrick?
I pulled and rolled the fronts yesterday. Haven't gotten to the rears, and don't know if I wll either. The front once again lays frame. I missed hearing that "thump" of my frame hitting the ground when lowering the car. Well, now it's back again.
in progress...no, i didn't dent the fender!
and completed. sitting pretty once again.
doesn't give you the best idea because the car is sitting at a slant, but yeah..
And fourthly...for those of you that never saw it with stock wheels...

Looking good! You think those 10s would tuck in the rear with a little pull and roll action?
Glad you posted some pictures with the stock wheels, now I know what to expect until I get my wheels![]()
#170
at first I was going to hate on this thread.
But then, i realized, it's DONE PROPER.
nice work for bags!
Whorin' the tex since 00 :p
#171
haha the stock wheels look hilarious in there
as for the car looks amazing man![]()
#172
looks good as always. So your not rocking front fender liners?
jelly of you people down south that don't have to worry about salt in the winter eating away your car...
#173
thanks dude. to be honest, maybe...just maybe on the 10's. i am debating on whether i should go for it or not. i might just leave it as is...i kind of like the look. but then again, i also love being able to pull up somewhere and just completely slam the car, rather than having to worry about my rear quarter panels smashing against my wheel!
but..i think the only way to get them to tuck for sure is dialing in some negative camber, and then roll/pull...i would post up a picture but photobucket is flipping out on me...what the hell....
lol...we are such prejudice people, always judging beforehand..
thanks though!
hahaha..tell me about it...in person, it almost reminds me of some sort of bug or insect or something, becuase all you see is the round-ish shape of the car, and you barely see the wheels tucked all the way in there...
thanks man! nahh, i still have the fender liners in...i took them out to roll the fenders because they get in the way..if it was softer, fabric-like liner, i could probably just pull them back..but they are a harder plastic material and don't bend as easily..
and that's true, we don't have to worry about the salt in the winter, but if you live right by the ocean, it's just as bad with the sea breeze, if not worse!
i had a friend that lived by a condo right on the beach...within like two or three years of owning the car, his passenger door literally rusted off the hinges...i'm sure that's nothing super common, or else no one would live by the beach...but, that sea breeze can be real nasty man..
#175
thanks! hahahaha....next week it should be installed.
5:30 P.M. Friday afternoon edit: I will have it done on Monday.![]()
