Eh there alright. for the price there decent. i ditched them recently bc a few LEDs failed and i have rline fog grills in the mail w/ euro fogs. Guess i grew outta the look

I love them, Plus i dont really have a very flying under the radar low key theme going with the car. The passat is so underestimated and they make people think "are they really there bc he's has some work or is he doing the Honda thing adding stickers for looks"

Those tint laws are worse than ours and I thought ours was dumb...

But still an awesome ride ...

I hate them! i want tint horribly but not running a front plate and my exhaust are both illegal (In NY any exhaust mod to make the car any louder then it was when factory is technically illegal) i dont want to take too many more chances

Not having a front plate here is illegal too but people rarely get hassled with it...

NY police will if there bored, i get asked the million questions why its not there, then i need to say my grill broke and im waiting on the dealer to get me a new mounting bracket. So far ive been lucky

Ive been pretty lucky too, pulled over 2x for it but it was basically a reson to check me out. Passat = drug runner car

One time the Trooper though i was running from him (while going the speed limit) bc i went the back way to my house. lol



Did some sticker bombing this weekend to make under the hood POP ha.



and added Euro spec projector fogs!! (3,000k HIDs in em)

Soo just pulled the fuel pump off and checked the cam follower so far im just over 12k on the pump and about 6500 mi on the cam follower posted below. She still running strong as ever. Changed the cam follower tho just for peace of mind and hopefully hold me over to thr new follower john is sending

So i decided to start cleaning my valves yesterday, afer 92,000 miles i figured it was time (plus practice at pulling the intake manni for when i do the BT install soon)

BOY WAS IT A JOB,

Here we go:


had to unplug about a million connectors:

Trying to remove the PITA intake manny support bracket bolt 10mm triple square (get the 4in long one)


Well that snot gunna fit:
I know "thats what she said"

after a million clips and a few bolts removed it was FREE:


Had one injector pop out:


as soon as you pull the intake manny off tape the injector ends:


The intake trays were disgusting (1mm thick of crud on both sides)




Before and after:


Spraying WD40 in the valves to make sure there shut before cleaning started:



once we knew they were sealed we started cleaning with carb cleaner and dental tools (it took forever)

Oh wear safety glasses when blasting the crap out with an air compressor my buddy Mark got a face full of gunk:


i only grabbed a shot of cylinder 3 (the cleanest of all)


Cylinder 1 cleaned (one of the dirtiest)


over all it took maybe 7 hrs of work, the cleaning of the valves was very tedious and time consuming

So far ive driven 50 or so miles today since i finished and MPGs are better, car revs better and feels more powerful.

What on earth could you do to help prevent any of that? I mean... you always see the commercials spouting some BS about 'our gas prevents buildup' blah blah... but seriously... 40k over here and dreading having to do that in another 50k. Anything that can help make that job less work...

its a direct injection thing, gas never touches our valves so it they never get scrubbed.

only thing tht can be done is scrubbing (i know some shops walnut blast them) vinnyty was going to do tht but he didnt get his stuff in time.

I may steal his kit n blast mine when i change the injectors in the next month or so

Is there anything that helps or at least prevents further build up that we can use for those of us who do not know how to take the engine apart to hand clean?

I would love to do it, but I wouldn't know how to put my engine back together haha.

For those that didnt see the post in the "what did u do to your car thread"

The past few weeks have been very busy! i arrived home from Wuste Monday June 4th, and Friday my Step Dads DUMB A$$ sister backed into my car while it was parked in the driveway.....





i was the unhappiest of all the campers......

Went to Walters Auto Body in Schenectady NY and they had the car done in 3 days. Just in time for NAMJAM they also fixed some rock chips on the hood (without me asking) awesome service!
She came out pretty DAMN GOOD!

Then the next weekend VinnyTy and myself hit up Canada to check out Eurokracy

Eurokracy was great! Also the Curise with the UNI Crew to UNI HQ was awesome! got to check out some of the new products tht they will be coming out with very soon. Top notch hardware is coming to the VW market Unitronic!


also went to NAM this last Monday and bought these:

and my South bends stage 2 endurance clutch this weekend.


then the plan for next weekend is the turbo kit, bc this just re-arrived in the mail!

Some info with the turbo kit, i ended up having to send my turbo back to CTS to have the Flange on my DP changed bc the new design of Precisions CEA PT5558 turbo had a different size flange then what CTS has seen and used in the past. Clay@CTS tho got everything fixed up for me nice and quickly

So as of right now i have every piece for the Big Turbo kit! all im waiting on is my tune from UNI, as soon as i have the word from then I will install (goal is July 10th)

Got the clutch installed and it doesnt work (will not go into gear)....... bought the clutch in October, and now tht i install i start finding horror stories about SB clutch's. and bad pressure pltes clutch disks being too thick all kinds of Shyt!

600hp IC is in and so are the control arm bushing and anti lift kit, just need to figure out this clutch issue before waterfest.

I really hope i dont get stuck having to buy a new clutch and eating this SB loss. If i dont get anywhere ill be ordering a Clutch Master 400 clutch

That sucks! Ive only done one clutch before and had this same problem. It was a mechanical clutch though, so I was able to just adjust the cable to get it to release. Then the clutch was slipping horribly and I found out that the fly wheel was not machined flat so it wasn't making flat contact.
