FYI - I will be bringing a shade pop-up with me.

I also finished several little things up this week and last night until 1AM

New Windshield w/Vintage rubber Cali-style gasket, check.
    Synchromesh in tranny, check
New oil pan & gasket, check
Reinstall speedo cables and instrument cluster, check
    Install Kenwood tunage, check
New door panels with new speakers, check
New interior including seats, hatch bottom carpet and deck lid side carpets, check

Tonight is wash and prep and I will try to join the east coast caravan when they come through by Zanesville, OH on I70.

I reached out to Joe (my update source from last year) but anyone with timing and info on the east coast caravan's itinerary and timing would be greatly appreciated.

assuming we keep to schedule and depart New Stanton around 1pm we should be in Zanesville around 3:30 or there abouts.

The GTI, er-- the KIA's packed up and ready to go first thing in the morning.

I'm bringing a small shade thingy, happy to share.

I'm also bringing a volleyball net and a tug-of-war rope, in order to settle once and for all who's better: Mk1 awesome folks or Mk2 losers (no bias intended ).

Now, I know what you're thinking: you're thinking that some of us (me included), have Mk1 AND Mk2 cars.

But to put it in Quentin Terantino type terms: even if you have both, you are more one than the other. So the question is: which is it?

Decide, and give the other side h-ell. See y'all tomorrow (hard lemonade)

There is an express in Wilmington, OH. It's farther (7.1 miles vs 3.2 miles) , but it's good like an express always is. I've stayed there twice, thinking it was "the" hotel.

Settling in for the night here at Ground Zero, watching it rain. That is supposed to come to an end tomorrow morning, in time for tech procedures. I discovered on the extended test drive out here in the '85 that the marginal axle I re-installed is bad. I'll have a new one in the morning, so instead of the usual Friday breakfast flight, there's likely to be a trip to pick up parts and tools.

As it is, the garage is Teal Green (mom's GM product) and Purple (you can guess), and I have two Sciroccos next to the driveway. Jim Jarrett's black topless bunny is in my hangar in Dayton, he'll be over sometime early-ish in the day.

    See you all very soon!!

I'll be rolling up Scirocco-less once again on Saturday. Mis-matched wheels on my Golf and dirty as hell. Can't wait to hang with my Scirocco family.

Dang. Rain a good chunk of the way.
    Victor hates rain....

But we are almost packed and ready to go. See you all in a few hours!
