Soooooooo, I finally got around to properly fixing my clutch cable sleeve bracket, which is also the pedal bracket. I ordered the new bracket from the dealer and after breaking my back lying under the dash for three hours, I finally got it in.

This was the time that I realized the location for my brake light switch was nonexistant on the new bracket.

Apparently there was a year split, and the bracket I needed is no longer made. Of cooooourse! So today I cut the piece I needed off my old bracket and JB welded it onto the new one. And ta da! I have brake lights again...a week later.

    Is it summer yet???????

    Doing it right is overrated.

Not sure if this has been done before, but I've custom fitted the dash from an 83 Rabbit to fit in my Cabby. Had to cut off the lower part of the dash which was the ash tray/coin compartment. I also didn't feel like figuring out how to wire the Rabbit headlight switch to my car, so I cut out the appropriate sized hole to fit my headlight switch in. Drilled a couple of holes for my horn and sub switches, and ta da!

Don't worry, the green pedals aren't staying.

    Doing it right is overrated.

So it seems spring is in the air! This weekend is supposed to be beeeeeaaaaaauuuutiful, so the plan is to enjoy St Pattys day with a few of these and a welder!

    Good combo, right??

    The Laffnstalks makeover begins!

They're the bumper mounts, I took the bumper off so painting would be easier. They're actually supposed to be front bumper mounts but I made them work on the rear cause my old ones rotted.

Here's another photo, my summer wheels! Put brand new rubber on them this morning. 155 55 14" NS II's.

    nice dash config

glad you decided to go with the cabriolet headlight switch
those rotary rabbit ones suck so bad
and atleast you can get NEW replacements for your cabriolet headlight switch
usually just the dimmer portion of the switch goes bad
easy fix to jumper two pins together and no more dimmer function, stays full bright 100%

for a rotary one however the overhead lamp is controlled by the rotor switch, really annoying

Haha, mine is an actual pool ball, tapped and threaded.

And the only reason I kept the Cabby headlight switch was because the plugs weren't the same, and I didn't feel like rewiring all that crap lol.

And as for the paint scheme, you'll have to wait and see!

Love the headliner! Hard to do? I was thinking of trying a sturdy "base" liner with zippers/buttons sewn along the sides/front so I's can change it up easily with different fabrics/patterns.

Also, when the poly arm bushings break in, tell us (me) how they ride please.

    Will do!

And that's a cool idea! Never thought of that. My headliner wasn't too hard to do, it's actually a shower curtain believe it or not. I used spray adhesive to stick it up, but it kept falling back down, partly I believe because the roof moves. So I took a needle and thread and just stitched it in place in a few spots so it doesn't droop.

    Do work!

The corner of this fender was dented in from when I slid (very slowly) into a tree a couple winters ago.

Ahahaha, it does look cool however it's a design I have not yet perfected. It's quite flimsy, I used a U shaped bar and attached it to the hood and rad support so the hood can swing out and hang down over the headlights like the old BMW's. I still need to find a way to sturdy it up and install some hood shocks.

I actually did it because when I replaced my front end the hood latch no longer lined up so I couldn't hold it down.

I was going to ask you the same thing about the hood. Maybe I'll poke around an e30 and check out that design some and figure something out and toss you some ideas. :p

I got lots of time on my hands right now haha.
