I got lots of time on my hands right now haha.
Already done that. I actually have a hood hinge out of an old Beemer, to make it fit I'd have to do some serious cutting and welding.

On another note, we finally got my friends Cabby running! We call it Blues Clues because so far it's been full of weird mystery problems. And over the past few weeks it's been dying due to a crappy ignition coil connections and a broken plug wire at the coil. My car has a sister now!

    And yes, that's a MK2 bumper.

    Doing it right is overrated.

It's quite flimsy, I used a U shaped bar and attached it to the hood and rad support so the hood can swing out and hang down over the headlights like the old BMW's. I still need to find a way to sturdy it up and install some hood shocks.

I actually did it because when I replaced my front end the hood latch no longer lined up so I couldn't hold it down.
Saab 900 classics had a pretty neat hinge solution. Might be worth a look.

I feel this may be too much of a teaser but I'll post it anyways...

Oh don't worry it'll look good when it's done, for now I'm just enjoying the nice clean look for once. The car still gets plenty of stares though! There's still enough ratty to draw attention.

So my friend finally got her Cabby on the road, but sitting for the past 6-8 months was hard on the poor car! Ran like a bag of poop, was stalling, and any time you let off the gas it chugged and bucked really badly. I figured the throttle body was probably all gummed up, so we SeaFoamed the intake and no more chugging! Drives great now, other than the fact that it's running way too rich. The thing's spewing out black smoke like it thinks it's a diesel...

As for my own Cabby, haven't done much lately. Painted a few trim pieces, did some more sanding and bodywork... Ick.

Bushings are great, the car has an even more solid ride now. (Is that a good thing? Lol...)

I didn't lol. They didn't last long, rain got in behind them and they all peeled off.

And yes I have 3/4" spacers in the rear behind the stub axle, a 15mm spacer on the left front, and a 5mm on the right front. (one of my wheels sticks out farther than the other)
