try the rear ground for the tailights, located in the trunk on the left side right beside the shock tower. if the ground is bad there it may burn up the ground wire and your rear tailights do all kinds of weird flashing...

Thanks guys.
Quick update. Got the blinkers fixed, it was a bad hazard switch.
Just got the brakes done. And upgraded with ATE Powerslot front rotors.
No pics lately. Will be getting window seals done soon to stop all the water leaks. Then the Interior can be cleaned and put back in.

All your cars are pretty awesome. I may look at building a motor for the jetta once my finances have settled out. Trying to move and get the car in daily driver condition at the same time is a bit stressfull.

building a motor takes time. trust me i know i whent through 2 cause of my brother.
after my brother moved out and the fox motor was blown he left us high and dry. me and my dad did it right. tore the motor down and had it bored out new gaskets all around. new forged wiesco pistons and after 6 months of building it all winter 2000$ later the car runs great i just haven't rebuilt the head my brother did. im going to put about 600$ for new parts on the head.
so building a motor is takes time. good luck to you nick. vwturbofox![]()

Update finally!!
Got armor door plates to cover the small rust spots
And tried to wash it the other day, I don't think it did much good. Managed to scrub some of the green gunk off.
And put all the plastic bits back on after a bit of cleaning.

Well I guess ill update.
Not a lot has happened, as far as mods. It melted in July. I fixed it, it broke. I tried to fix it again. Failed....
And now it runs again. Needed a new WUR and I broke a wire replacing the fuse box that made it not run after that. Saving up for suspension now.
I also scored some 15x7 enkei 92 I am going to refinish, and a set of Recaro trophys for $150 from a garage sale in awesome condition.

Good things will be on their way. Coilovers, Centra wheels and some new suspension bits will be ordered soon! Christmas bonuses are awesome.

Guess I haven't updated this in a while.
Here are some pictures.
Scored these at a garage sale for $150, super clean
Out with the old,in with the new.
Test fit of some new shoes. They are going to be a tight fit with the offset.
Got it a bit lower for now.
Had a little issue... stupid helper springs and poor alignment.
Finally got a day of sun here in WA for a quick wash.

Picked this up over the weekend. GTI 1.8 8v supposedly with a g-grind cam in it and an external oil cooler and transmission for $150!
I plan on doing a slight build with it. So far it will be getting a port and polish with some better valve springs and maybe a bigger cam.
