So i got a Nikon D3100 last year for my Birthday and now i have finally decided that i should get out there and try and get better at Hobby of mine....I am going to go ahead and try and update this thread as much as possible with my various shots taken from now on, hopefully they get better with time photos will be of Combination of People, Places and Cars.... comments/critiques welcome
also only editing program i use is Picasa by google

The issue I'm having with these 2 shots, is that your use of selective coloring, is causing my eyes to fight over what to look at. I'd imagine that the subject of your shot is meant to be your relative. The thing is, the coloring the bike and the wall, is drawing my eye to those areas, even though they know they should be looking at the person. So my eyes end up bouncing back and forth which makes me want to stop looking at the photo. They also seem soft, like you missed your focus, especially the 1st one. I can't seem to find one sharp area in that one.

now looking at it i see what your saying thanks for the advice this was my 1at time trying to edit my own photos hopefully will get better in time any more advice would love to hear

Read up on the rule of thirds

This will really help to improve your composition. Good start though.

what iso are you shooting at in the baby pictures? looks kinda grainy, unless its just my eyes going outread up on rule of thirds for sure..

All of the Portraits from your 2/22 post have an intrusive black line jutting through each of your subjects.
Do what you can to avoid that in the future unless you plan on using the line as an integral aspect of your composition.
In this one, it's unevenly jutting right through Leonica's head

so i gave the d3100 to my wife and now i currently have a d7000 i cant wait to put it to use and see what kind of photos i can acheive i know i still have along way to go when it comes to photography but i certainly have learned alot from this forum and from you guys
