I do, but almost exclusively on the PCT, and usually aiming for 20+ mile days. You'd think this meetup group would be perfect for me, but I haven't hiked with them yet:

There are also groups that hike on www.mtsanjacinto.info.

My next backpacking trip will probably be in a week or two.

The groups I posted would be a bit of a challenge for me to keep up with as of today, so they might not be for you, but you might use them to find something that's more your pace.

Gonna keep an eye on this. My wife and I are avid backpackers from the PNW and Hawaii moving to SD in the summer.

I'm planning on doing another long walk on the PCT in a few weeks. I'm not sure what my pace will be since I've been sick for the last few weeks, but it should be at least 15 a day. I'll start at the Mexican border and hike to I-10 (200 miles) or maybe Big Bear (300 miles). You're welcome to join for a day or the whole thing. If you don't want to drive out there, there are a several spots where you could use (public & Greyhound) bus, train, plane and tram to get out there and back home.

I'm not exactly sure when I'll start. I'd start now, but I want a little time to get back in shape after being sick so long, and to give the new snow time to melt.

I would be interested in doing day hikes or weekend trips in the area. I dont know much either being an east coaster but I do want to get out more.
