not a believer in the cuff tried and same results shafts can't seperate since our cases have 2 bearings that the shaft go thru it so can't go anywhere, it's the overall flexing that is hurting us

Outsourcing the machining doesnt save much at all (if anything w communications issues, f ups, etc) unless its big volumes.

I had a quote from liberty and was crazy, looking to get a contract to get done in 2k range, Honda sells for 1875$ so for a first run to be close to that price would be good.

Yeah would be easier but Very small Market would acutaly use these.. Alot will use the Case brace

As mention I run PAR gears

spark plug wires=4 more chances for ignition failure.

the stock coils from the newer 1.8t works great for 1000hp,they are cheap and you can get them everywhere.

number of VW plug wires i've seen fail on a maintained car - 3 or 4.
number of VW coil packs i've seen fail - 100s.

not for nothing.... and i am not intruding on this thread. just stating my own recent experience.

running brand new 2.0L FSI coilpacks. first hit we attempted for 40psi this trip popped #2 coilpack @ ~375/350 awhp/tq mid pull around 5k rpm. put an old beat upon set of stock 115r's back in to make the pull, and 737/568 @ 40psi.

i then put the car in the trailer, yanked that ignition setup out, and talked with Kevin about my next step. and that was an Autronic CDI 500r and Bosch Motorsports coilpack and stock 16v plug wires. ZERO incidents with the new setup. and more PB's on every front, from ET, trap, power, 60', everything.

i blew one new coilpack on the dyno, and didnt want to do that on the track.

on standalone i have only seen 1 115r failure, and we use vagcoils on every car it is possible/needed ign upgrade..

on stock vw´s i have seen many failures.

sparkplug wires will always be one more option for failure,as long as they are not needed

i have ran with success the stock coils for years but going different route this year.

But to be honest with these cars, there are more things that concern me about being reliable then the plug wires, wich if goes bad is easy fix, not concern at all all about my ignition set up

slowly moving forward, lightweight rear beam with suspension etc is done, engine bay is clean painted, but ran into a few set backs, so like i have been saying not rushing at all.. when it's done it will be the monster..
