SOLD, thanks for all the interst!
The car is a 1992 Golf GL, with ~127k original miles on the shell (but the odo says ~150k, as it was swapped back in 2005). I have daily driven this car the last 15-16k miles and it has only left me stranded once, thanks to a cracked coolant cap. The shell is pretty clean, only minor rust under the passenger rear flare and minor surface rust on the pinch welds. The car does have its share of dings and scratches on the body. The aba swap took place about 17-19k miles or so ago and the PO replaced almost everything mechanical at that time. Since I have owned it, only minor issues have arisen but everything was replaced with new oem parts to ensure everything is running 100%. Now onto the list of mods..
Engine:
2.0 ABA bottom end
1.8 digi head, with new valves, decked, ported and polished
270 Autotech cam
New NGK plugs, and spiffy new plug wires
K&N air filter
New belts
New starter, battery and a used vr alternator
TT chip
Autotech lightweight intermediate shaft pulley
Port-matched & ported stage 1 Intake manifold
Upgraded motor mounts (G60 trans, solid front and Poly bushings for rear)

New clutch, LW flywheel, 16v pressure plate and new trans seals, etc..
MkI radiator, with deleted coolant expansion tank (will include a mkII rad and overflow tank with sale)
A/C deleted
New heater core (the heat in this car is better than my Audi!)
Suspension:
New poly bushings on suspension components
Upgraded oem front swaybar
VR front strut mounts
New-ish 60/40 cup kit (dampening adj.)
Alignment done 4/15 (has 6mo warranty)
Brakes:
Rear drums, spindles, bearings, shoes, etc. (1-2 years old)
Front mkIII hubs, bearings, 10.1" rotors and ceramic pads (1-2 years old)
65mm Race stud conversion kit
Wheels/tires:
Stock 14" steelies with BRAND NEW Nankang 185/60/14 tires
Sttock mkIII hubcaps
10mm spacers on the rear
Exterior:
New rear badges
Big bumpers with 16v lip (have extra 16v and 8v lips)

BNIB Hella 500 lights (wired up with high beams, by PO)
Sylvania Silverstar Super White H4 bulbs
Clear banana lights
Tinted front bumper turn signals
Euro black/red tails wired up
Hood prop struts conversion
Deleted passenger side mirror (but I do still have it)
Interior:
New dash (no cracks, and I still have the original VIN plate)
Corrado steering wheel
Accordion shift boot cover
Faux leather e-brake cover
Razo shift knob
Grey Recaro front seats (condition: 8 out of 10), stock rear bench
Black A,B,C pillars
Black sun-visors
Black Rear speaker covers, parcel shelf and carpeted sides
Black carpet with new padding underneath (carpet is basically new, thanks to the heater-core going bad on me and making a helluva mess)
Front mkIII floor mats
Newer Pioneer headunit with aux/mp3
Two front tweeters and four good speakers; infinity speakers I believe (the whole speaker setup actually sounds pretty good)
There is about $6k in just parts on this car since the PO and I have owned it, which I can show receipts and a excel file of all things done to the car or put on the car in the last 3-4 years. It has a list of all the gaskets, wires, bolts, sensors, etc.. that have gone on the car aside from the listed mods above. The car has been well built and is damn reliable. I also have plenty of parts to go with the car that you may or may not want to use down the road. The car simply needs a new owner who is able to finish the project, so to speak.
Now onto the pics:
Most current state, and how it is being sold. (yes the car is dirty as hell, but I have not had time to actually clean it in a while)
Cluster with current mileage (will go up as it is my daily still)
When the new cluster was swapped, 22903 was added to the actual mileage on the chassis (also have info in the paperwork that will go with the car)
..and lastly the engine bay shot
Some older shots since I have had the car
Motor fully built before it went into the car, photo by PO
My price is $3,500. No trades, only cash money please.
The only issues with the car currently:
-Car has a 4 door headliner, but its better than nothing I guess.
-Door cards are dirty and kinda crappy in my opinion, the panels themselves are still in great shape, just the material is coming loose in some spots.
-Brakes squeal, but everything is still within spec and working properly. (Id say to just replace th rear pads and/or put in a refresh kit with new springs)
-E-brake doesn't hold too well on its own; just gotta leave the car in gear when its parked.
-Minor rust as already mentioned, not visible though.
-Paint and such could use work as already mentioned (Dents, scrapes and rock chips)
-Roof rain rails could use replacing (Small cuts in one; age overall)
-Rear view mirror rattles a little.

Replaced blown rear tag light bulb and reverse light switch
Also replacing the old/stretch exhaust hanger near the rear axle beam so it will stop rattling![]()

Do you still have this car? I have this much money and I am interested. I would like to test drive it including my friend that shared the link with me.

went ahead and ordered new coolant sensors to hopefully fix the temp guage issue![]()
#21
Replaced the coolant sensors so the needle moves to the correct spot on the gauge for an accurate reading.
Picked up a used Corrado steering wheel for the car since I hate the stock Golf GL wheel, so much more comfortable and has such a nicer grip. Kinda mad at myself for not grabbing one months ago for the car.![]()
Also put in some new Sylvania Silverstar H4s (and damn was that a huge difference!) It was almost like driving a different car tonight.![]()

Went ahead and checked out the rear brakes and cleaned everything. Everything is still good as new (within spec) but the squeal sound is still there. I am assuming its just the pads.
Also went ahead and re-balanced the wheels and did a rotation while they were off the car.![]()

All the issues are listed above. The only thing that won't pass inspection is the horn not working. Still have yet to diagnose it. But its probably just a fuse or grounded out, as its a newer horn already. But maybe the horn died, not sure exactly. Been my favorite mkii to date, that I've owned.
