i went to King VW in September and Franceso tried to jerk me on my 20th.
they offered me 3k for this..



I moved to Gaithersburg from NY for a really good job and needed some thing dependable.

With 150k the motor started giving me issues. The headgasket was shot and slave cylinder went inside the tranny. cost me 850. i dont have "hookup" like i do in NY

the car looked and drove immaculate. i cranked down the boost and drove it to King and played like the car was running fine.

Doug offered me the market value of my car which was 5k. (even though it had every mod done)
full suspension, mint interior and frankenturbo with unitroinic stage 2+.

I found the car for sale at a Used Car lot in VA for 6k. Little do the use cars condition.

So the red autobahn was sitting there since September. My girlfriend is real nasty New Yorker.
She basically told them no body wants 31k with 200hp. every body wants AWD and 250hp.
So sell us the car for 29 and give us full value on our trade in and you got a deal.

well they made it work. I even got a free detail coming to me. The car was sitting there since September and the paint has some swirls. Not bad but still shouldnt be there for a new car.

So i made out like a bandit. Doug was a pleasure to deal with. Franceso can kiss my a$$

for having a tough GF Nice man glad it worked out for you. My 20th is right at 125,XXX miles no major issues except for some suspension issues caused by RAI in baltimore looking to have the problems iron out before the R gets here.

I had Koni yellows on H&R race spring. I replaced every bushing on the front end last summer.
The car handles perfectly. The motor was just tired of getting beat on.

I bought my fiance's 2011 Autobahn GTI from King VW in May 2011. They were willing to negotiate a bit on the price, so they were the first place I started calling about the R. I spoke with Roger, who let me know that their first R was a sold order to one of their senior sales guys, and that a couple others had placed sold orders already. Their first non sold order car will be arriving in April (I reallly want to drive one before I buy). Mark, did you alrady agree on a price with King or will that come later?

I live in Sykesville and work in Rockville, so there are quite a few dealers in the area - anyone have any experience with Congressional in Rockville or Russel?

I'm down here in Virginia Beach. Picked up my Rising Blue 2dr W/option package a month ago today. Car is amazing, so far i have put clear bra on it and that's it. Now i just need some good weather to get it out and enjoy it. I will be meeting up with a friend for Tail of the Dragon beginning of April, should be epic.

Stopped in to Martens in DC last weekend to check on availability and have a look--their online database reported a blue 4 dr in stock. Turns out the car was sold, but found they expected a grey one in a couple of weeks, but it was spoken for. I agreed to put down a $500 refundable deposit and wait to see what happened. I'm in no rush. Turns out the grey R came in yesterday, and number 1 on the list doesnt like the color, so it's already my turn. I'll have a look and a test drive tomorrow. I'm trading an '09 335 convertible. (Hopefully close to a straight-up swap.) Want something smaller and lighter, awd, four doors. Wasn't actually aware of the R until a few weeks ago, but seems like it might be the ticket. S2000 and S4 preceded the Bimmer, and way back there is a Mark IV Jetta GLX. Always had a soft spot for vee-dubs after that car. I'll let you know how it turns out.

picked up my car from service, 600 bucks for a fuel pump, ended up trading it in for the R that just came in the day before, carbon steel 2d navi. was at Wallace VW in Bristol TN. i live in Abingdon VA

So I bought the R this morning. Martens made a decent deal on the trade, close to an even swap before taxes etc. Paid MSRP for the R. Only driven it 15 miles or so, all in city traffic. Looking forward to getting out early Sunday for a true test. Happy to join the club.

We picked up a 4 door CW this evening from the new location of Darcars, out in Silver Spring; great guys to deal with, enjoyed the transaction. Paid MSRP, but the awesome deal on our trade made it work.

This one is my ever loving wife's - my RBM 2 door is on order...

I think we live up the hill from bumpjump - we were driving to the dealer around noon, and my wife's eagle eyes caught the CSG in the driveway. Noticed the wheels first...
