Yes, we need to wrap the car and add other sponsor images to the car after each race

      Update on the wagon build..

Stopping bye an upholstery shop to pick up my carpet, stopping at home depot to get some 3M spray glue, and rec'd an e-mail the rear bags are still stuck in customs... But going to start on what we can before the bags, etc.. are installed.

I should have update pictures going in the next few weeks.. As soon as it gets started, it will fall into place fairly quickly

Works been pretty crazy lately.. I'm waiting on a few more items to really kick it off, but here is some of the little details people don't take the time to look at.

Nothing worse than a stock ugly trunk color.... Thanks to "Paps" for helping me with taping up the car to spray...

Stock CW JSW Rear spare compartment

      Primer

      Texture spray

I'm sorry for the iphone images, the trunk itself is black & white "texture" looks real "grey" in the image above.

There is a foam pad that is basically molded onto the body of the car.. from past experience in the mkv, this does not come off.. so I sprayed over, knowing that the color would stain. When the tanks are situated, and the hardlines are ran, and the carpeting is completed... it will be very clean and un-noticable.

Ditto here. I am so NOT in to the whole air ride thing. I do, however, really like the cleanliness and attention to detail of the installation. This is definitely something I might keep in mind if I decide to run NatGas later.

They will be sitting inside the spare tire compartment with my 2 air zenith compressors.

I planned out in advance where everything was going to fit, and where to mount everything. I want it to pretty much be stealthy with nothing but quality parts and components for this vehicle.

It doesn't bother you running no spare? I liked how mark_jsw_seis had his mounted on either side of the rear, looked pretty cool and since it was elevated you could still have space back there.

      Not worried at all.

If I'm taking short trips.. I carry an emergency kit for the air-ride.. mainly fittings, teflon tape, etc.. I always have fix a flat, and I have the air in the back to fill the tires up.. so never worry about locally.

If I'm taking long trips, i'm typically with my friends who have a 5X112 spare on them.. Not to mention I have plenty of room is this hotel of a car to just put a spare in the back seat.

When it's all said and done, the rear compartment is equally as important to myself as the motor compartment.

Everyones setups are different, and that's something I really love about air.. You will never really see duplicates of setups

Next week, I'll be updating alot of this thread with pictures

Split the wheels the night before, and finally decided on a color "outside" of the box for myself, but something I wanted to try for this build.

Here is the wheels on it's way for powder.. Should have them in roughly a week. It's a custom color powder that had to be ordered.

Great looking build. I have a question for you. How well do these air ride suspension handle? I assume they ride great, but how do they corner compared to a nice coilover setup? It is something I have always wondered. Looking forward to the completed project.

Based on my MKV, it handles awesome! Air will lower the center of gravity on the car.. I'm not even running a front sway bar. I probably wouldn't do it if I was autocrossing, but todays technology can definitely hold up.

I love air because of the ride quality, the durability, and the ease of the look I personally want to achieve. My only suggestion is to do research, purchase quality components, and have some mechanical ability.

The wagon is going to be a cruiser, so it was a no brainer that I wanted this TDI to have all the great handling that my MKV had

If you have any questions, shoot me a PM.

I work with another person named "SWOOPS" who does alot of the detail work, that you will see on this build. We work together to make what I see a reality and would recommend him for an install if your on the east coast and don't feel comfortable doing the install yourself.

How do you like DSG on the TDI?
I had it on my MKV GTI and I loved it, but I heard some less than perfect things about the diesel and dsg combo.... but never experienced it myself.

Reason im asking is because a friend around me is possibly looking at buying a jetta TDI with DSG.

Everything is working properly. I have heard about a TSB for a mechatronics replacement... But so far, so good.

That seems to be the only problem they ever have with DSG. But VW almost ALWAYS covers that under warranty, so .

Interested in how these will look on the car... ccw classics always look good but im typically not a big light blue fan. However your setup should pull them off
