I've searched and I couldn't get a really good answer so I'd thought I'd ask some of the guys here who knows.

I currently have a 3" high flow cat downpipe with my aftermarket exhaust. I want the exhaust note to be a little louder and I've heard that if you switch to a cat-less downpipe, it will become louder.

I'm going to be keeping the resonator because I don't want to be obnoxious loud.

Would I hear a significant increase in exhaust note if I picked up a 3" cat-less downpipe and swapped it out with my 3" high flow cat downpipe?

    Thanks guys.

Dude, if there´s any problem with the inspection, go ahead and it would sound a little bit more deeper! You can add as well an aftermarket resonator to your custom catback!

    Hope this helps!

In California, you need a cat or you won't pass smog/inspection.

I think what I've decided to do is keep my 3" dp with high flow cat and just delete the resonator on my magnaflow exhaust. This way, it'll be louder and I'll pass smog!

    Thanks Beto.

i went from stock to stock with a resonator delete just to give it some rumble. then i installed a 3 inch catless downpipe and it became incredibly loud and raw, so im assuming that the cat does absorb some of the sound

I'm gonna go with my resonator delete first cus my smog check is coming up.

If I feel the need to go louder, then I'll get a cat-less dp. I just need to wait after i pass my smog lol.

I believe that with the resonator delete will be more than enough!

    Have a good one,
