Thread: IE 24V SAI Block Off Plates In Stock and On Sale!

  1. 02-16-2012 02:00 PM #1
    Only $54.99! Buy Here

These plates allow the removal of the
entire secondary air injection / combi valve system, including the large
injection pump. This results in a much cleaner looking engine bay, as
well as less clutter and more room for you to get in there and wrench on
your ride. We CNC machine these plates from 6061 aluminum alloy to
ensure a perfect fit, and a beautiful looking piece! The installation is
completed with a new gasket, hose fitting, and stainless steel socket
    head hardware.

Comes standard in red anodized finish.

Do you have a DIY for SAI removal?

SAI, is this an totally unnecessary part then? Deals with smog, no? Does the removal create a CEL or is a special tune needed? Like a clean engine bay but I don't know much about what the SAI does.

I did this over the weekend. Dont have enough pictures to do a detailed write up, but it really is quite easy. Took about 1.5 hrs, without much direction on my part. You take the plate and assemble it with thread seal tape...

Disconnect the large hose, and brown ground to the piece under the throttle body and unbolt the unit with 3 allens. Space is tight, so you may need to revert back to McGuyver tactics. I had to take off my intake piping to make some extra room.

Install the plate with gasket, and new hardware thats provided. Recconnect the hose to the back with existing clamp.

Securly jack up the car, and remove the pump with three bolts. Remove pump, bracket and hose that leads up to the removed unit.
Everything that needs to be removed can be seen here...

Its a ****ty write up, but I hope this helps someone.

The other thing you can do to keep from any codes popping up is to put a 1/2 watt 1,000ohm resistor in the connector where the smog pump went.

HI Eric, We do do UM tunes and yes you can send your ECU to us. The turn around time is 2-3 days at most...

As for the Block off kit we do not supply the hose.
Email Gabe @ gabe@bwperformance.com or Me Hollywood@bwperformance.com to get the details on sending your ECU out.

@gmoneyR32, get on ordering then and ill send it out to ya!!

The pics above are pretty much what is needed but yeah next time we do one in house I will post up pics. Also when you pull the smog pump you can run a 1/2 watt 1k ohm resistor on the connector to keep the code from popping up.
