Hey guys, this car is being parted out, time to move onto something new. Check out the parts I have left!
http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...PLETE-PART-OUT
Up for sale is everything off of my fully built 1.8t.
EVERYTHING has under 2,000 miles on it, most of it is even under 500 miles. I am selling the stuff for great discounted prices, you would save a ton of money buying these items from me than if you were to buy them new. Everything on this car is pretty much still brand new and barely used.
Also, if anyone wants the entire rolling body + interior I would be interested in getting rid of it pretty cheap. Engine bay is already shaved! interior is really nice terracotta and suede. All you would have to do is bolt a engine and ecu to it and you will have a really nice a4!

Very nice build, But may i ask why you didnt shave the valve cover and intake manifold? I shaved the casting marks off of the intake, and smoothed it all out. Im truely jealous of your car.
#10
Yes, i do agree, but your car is so gorgous Those little details would make it look different to those that know anything about them.
#13
Wow! Love that shave and tuck. Color on the valve cover and intake is a definite![]()

What are the specs on the scat rods?

is there a reason why you left it as a 1.8t and didnt go the stroker route?
im doing a similar build and im on the fence whether i should build the head and just do rods or do a 2.0 stroker
oh and nice build btw![]()

Seriously sick, post up your dyno results when you have them!

Dyno day is tomorrow. Got a few jugs of corn juice waiting for me.![]()

sorry for the wait today was crazy.
we did 450 @ 26psi on E85 winter mix (more like E70?) We were also only revving to 6200.
But sadly all this fun was very short lived..
On the way home I did a pull, and the coolant temp sensor housing BLEW UP!!! [headbang] Instantly coolant flew all over the windshield, I turned to my passenger and said "dude.. was that my engine?" "I think I blew the welds on my intake manifold."
WHUT THE MOTHER F(*&$#(*^#*^(#$*A(*&#$BANG
So I towed the car to the garage and put a new one in that I had laying on a shelf. I started it up to try to see what is happening and now I hear a very loud knock.
I'm not one to cry, but I think I may..

Serious numbers, must be a beast...Sorry for your loss, on the plus ,now you will have to go stroker. Those fittings are a piece of ****, the same type of retainer on the end of the block breather cracked unknowlingly on me as well, then snapped off after a while completely, very weak design...pitty 034 or the others can't come up with a kit to replace this horrible , leaky , build killing POS.

yea 450 on a dynojet.
today:
1: We pulled the valve cover to check the cam chain and guides, everything is tight and intact, it looks awesome.
2: We dropped the oil pan to look for metal shavings, nothing, sparkling clean.
3: We pulled a rod cap off to look at the bearing and it looks pretty good.
sooo I'm very stumped as to what was making the noise. I think we are going to do a head gasket and throw it back together and see what happens.. I just cant see anything wrong internally.
How she sits, again.* :'(
Oh and I want to give some recognition to the Full Blown guys. LJ called me this morning, without me even asking him to, and went over everything with me, I told him we were going to be working on it around noon, and again without me even needing to ask, he said he would come over and hang out with us and give us a hand with working on the car. Keep in mind this is Saturday and one of his two days off from working at the shop. Talk about awesome customer service and just a down right great guy. I would recommend anyone to this great group of guys, i trust them entirely.

A buddy of mine just sent me this.
"Aaron behing the oil filter housing (you need to remove it from the block) there is a little spring//plunger that controls oil pressure to the head, it's probably shut and not letting any oil to the head. when we blew the headgasket hard on the dyno like you did massive presure occured and jammed that plunger so when we fixed the hg it started right away but sounnded like a diesel/dry lifter but noise never went away, un jammedthat plunger problem solved. this was on a 06a block sure they all have it. not sure if that is the noise if it is i would check. or just remove valve cover crank it over with fuel pump off and see if oil make it;s way to the top if it does not then you have the problem i just told you. good luck"

This sounds like a very nice place to start, I would be so happy if this solves the problem.

really.... do I seriously have to pull my motor, bore, new pistons, deck, deck head... AGAIN?
This car is cursed.. Since the day I purchased it, it just loves blowing things up and eating $$$$$.
Pulled the head and this is what things look like.
Head gasket looked okay except for this area here, it looks like it may of been leaking here, what do you think?
Then I checked the cylinder walls, and #4 has a blurry spot up top, I can catch my finger nail on it.. I am assuming this now needs to be bored out.
Please someone donate some hugs, I am feeling rather down.. >

Sorry to hear about your motor man, i would be braking **** with a metal bat
... anyways, was it an oem head gasket? why do you think your piston scarred your cylinder wall so bad, was it next to where the head gasket blew, maybe water got in there before the rings were seated, causing all the oil in the cross hatch to wash away? from a miss torqued head bolt? that's my theory...
