this has been happening intermittently for quite a while now. when the engine is warm and i go to start the car, i usually have to give it gas to keep it from dying. sometimes it revs like 5 times before evening out. i've got no CEL and read somewhere that i might need a flash? car always starts fine first thing in the morning.

I have a similar problem too, I am running a united motorsports tune. When the car is hot and I start it sometimes it will idle rough like you can feel the car shake a little, it even died on me the other day. If you give it gas it evens out. Wish I could help you but I havnt figured it out yet, bump for an answer

thanks for the link. seems that most dealers have no idea about the warm stall TSB anymore...how do i get this fixed then? get a vagcom and do it myself?

    United Motorsports flash!
dont think that is something you can do with VAG since the whole program needs to be re-written.. might as well spend the $ on the tune cause the dealer will just charge you as much if not double to correct the issue..

spend the $ on the tune and you will be very happy about it!! Well worth every Penny!

I just got a unitronic stage one flash a week ago and had a warm stall idle stumble

This was my only gripe after I got my UM flash. I did a little bit of digging and after changing from the stock 3bar to a 4bar FPR and chasing down a couple tiny, almost undiscoverable vacuum leaks in the evap vac lines (cracks in the accordion bellows in the lines running to the back of the manifold) the problem is gone.

A Bosch 4bar FPR shouldn't cost you more than $50, and I replaced the two accordion lines with high temp vacuum line of comparable diameter.

Curious as to what made you want to get a 4 bar FPR??

I ran through the same issue with those accordian lines as well.. never thought about tossing them over for some better lines though, just picked up more plastic crappy ones!! ugh!!

You guys talking about these lines, as you can see mine broke so i kind of rigged it back together but still not sure if its a full seal.

When one of my ignition coils went bad the interior and exhaust reeked of fuel. And that was only from 1/4 miles worth of driving.

Do you know if you can get this hose from the dealer? im getting like 275 per tank and i have changed the plugs to oem 5k ago, fuel filter, has a green top coolent sensor, nice air filter and catback. Only thing as far as i can see is that hose in the back of the mani that broke, but then i shrunk wrapped it but i still think it may be coming from that area. i have no idea at this point

you can but I beleive they cost a lot of $$$!!!
I am currios as to what or how others have fixed them... they are just brittle plastic and pretty terrible in my car considering I have 197k on it.......

I think I want to replace them with high temp line, but I need to pul them off to look @ them...

pretty sure all mine are leaking.. I repaired the last couple with Gorrila tape.. lol but thats temporary...

    EDIT: http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...oses/ES269454/
$127 @ ECS... um what? lol **** is too much money... need a quicker repair then that!
I can get it @ my local VW place utilizing my all smiles discount for $104.... still ugh!! lol

wonder if my PT Job can get it for me cheap as well... hmmmmmm

that's just the PCV line no? Route a catch can or grab any heater hose at part source, pep boys, etc - $20 max for some heater hose and clamps.

Also I've been running UM BT 630cc software for about 9 months now, not a single hiccup.

also I don't see how a cracked PCV hose would cause a warm stall.... that hose just feeds excess oil vapour back into the intake tract no?

It has nothing to do with warm stall. warm stall is a ecu fail. You must have used something to cap off the gaping hole on the black intake pipe before the TB eh?

24vGTiVR6: Nah we were taking about how your set up is with the high temp hoses... We wanted to see a pic of how you have it because so many of us run into issues with the plastic PCV lines that always break...

Seeing as UM, Revo, etc. still have the warm stall issue, i'm gonna visit the stealership and ask them about the TSB. Can anyone confirm the software update fixes it?

UM cures the warm stall. My issue was the dirty components.

just got a response from jeff...

"I don't know if my tune 'expicitly' sorts the TSB warm stall issue, but
I have made tune modifications to on my side to sort it.

I also have no reports from any customer of warm stall issue.

Also, be aware of any 'tuner' that clams to have the fix"

So i emailed unitronic and get this, Even though they say on there site it is removed

    Brian,

How does your warm stall issue happen?

It isn't something that we actually fix, it a a fix issue by VW on the latest version of that file, your dealer simply install the latest revision from VW.
