Thread: 2000 audi A4 quattro hood won"t open

  1. 02-19-2012 05:52 PM #1
2000 avant with a broken plastic hood release in the grill won't budge. The plastic piece broke years ago so have been using pliers to grab hold to pull foward. Now after pulling hood release in the the cabin the piece in front doesn't move. Any suggestions on how to release the hood?

try having a buddy pull the line while you lightly press down on the hood, as he pulls (and holds) when you push down it should release. mine sticks sometimes too

Jack up car, connect a 2 foot extension and 1 or 2 6 inch extensions together and go from underneath to push latch up to pop. Can do it in like 5 seconds after doing it a few times due to my dumbass self forgetting to hook up the latch.
