Awesome, I had just emailed them before seeing this, but thanks for the part #'s on the other thread. Price is VERY reasonable for OEM parts, imho, haha... and I was guessing the same thing on E vs F, so I will definitely order the E's and they are direct plug and play or is any vagcom needed? will be really happy to get rid of those side bulbs

That's 3 for sure including myself for the outers only.

Ah, that did go up. I emailed him, but haven’t heard back. I’ll have to PM him then. If others are interested, I’ll wait for a GB, otherwise I’ll just get the outers on my own, but a GB would be nice if we can get a price break. Thanks

True dat! I'm thinking of taking those part #'s to my local audi dealer to see if they can get me a better price. I'll also pm him back saying that we have 3 people that want the outers only and see if he'll honor the $122 pricing he posted before.

Wow, that's quite a price increase. I had to replace one of the GB members outer lamps that cracked in shipping and they charged me $122 plus $7 shipping about 5 months ago. Fortunately FEDEX reimbursed me.

Nobody wants just US spec outers. The whole need for the Euro spec outers are for the face lifted guys that have stock LED tails and want the continuous white reflector.

Oops, my bad. I meant to post the E codes. The price I got was $155 each as there seems to have been a price increase. Not worth it IMO, Better to get a full set with adapter with the GB.

Correct, F is for the US... to mean, "F you, you don't get the cool shizz", haha... but what do you mean by continous "white" reflector? is it actually white or? i just thought there would be no bulb or reflector there on the side, that's what I'm looking for. Anyone have side-on pics?

OK, I checked the BKS link and see the white reverse line in the outers, that's fine with me. I was mostly concerned with the bulbs on the side of the outers, which looks like there is none, just a reflector. So that all said, I am still interested.

I’m in for outers, but need to confirm first – the sides have no bulb, correct? As that’s the only thing I’m really trying to accomplish here, is to just have the LED portion of the rears that I already have, and no side bulb. It looks like there isn’t one, but its somewhat hard to tell. Thanks!

Well if you look on bks's website http://www.bks-tuning.com/epages/171...ducts/AUA3L001 the 7th picture down it shows the back side of the outer tail light it doesn't look like there's anywhere to put the reflector bulb.

Also here's a picture of the euro led tail lit up with no side reflector bulb.

I think the white portion is the turn signal...it's amber colored. Not 100% on this but I think the rear fog is where the brake light is if they come with a rear fog not sure if the rear fog option comes on all euro tails.

Also I do know there will be coding needed for these...like they flicker on start up or something for bulb diagnostics. These outer should just be plug and play right besides the coding for the bulb diag?

Does anyone that has these have the vagcom info for these? Found something about it in a previous post.

Once in VDS:

select - central electronics

Then once it loads click on - coding

Then click on - help with long coding (it is named something like this but not exact.)

Next you will notice as you click on the squares with the green numbers going left to right it says which byte you are in. Those correspond with the Bytes below. Essentially you are just dimming some lights and brightening others so it turns on the LED portion while you are just using tail lights. Then the inside lights up as you hit the brakes.

Btye 9 to Dec = 0 - as the final brake light
Byte 10 to Dec = 0 - Fog lamps as a taillight
Byte 12 to Dec = 36 - dimming rear standlight
Byte 19 Bit 2 Cold Diagnosis rear active - this must be activated

That's what I wasn't too sure on, but I think you may be right...what I read was prolly for the previous years that didn't already come with the leds.
