Pull up shift boot
pull up shift surround
unbolt front two ashtray bolts
unbolt triangle handles and spread them apart
ashtray should pull right out

I've been searching (as best as I could while at work) for a quick write-up or how-to remove the coin tray in front of the shifter under the AC controls. Can anyone please point me in the right direction as I need to get this thing removed to mount my Autopilot controller?

There used to be a DIY for the ashtray delete- funny it never made it into the DIY thread.
It was a LONG time ago, and I did it- and you don't have to remove/loosen the 'triangle handle' doofers in order to remove it. At least I don't remember doing that...![]()

I've been meaning to get the ashtray delete, but only seem to find it on OEMplus and it's always on back order. Any other place to get this piece?

ECS but they're back ordered too.

Loosening the triangle things made it easier for me to get the ashtray delete in, but Skotti is correct, you don't really neeeeed to.

Don't remove the traingle thingys, they are a pain to get realigned and bolted back in place.
Just loosen the bolts so you can spread them a bit.

For some reason, my little tray doesn't seem to be easy to remove. Same goes for the shift boot, etc. Perhaps I should do this in the daylight.![]()

Seeing no one has pointed it out, AllThingsGetto's car, is a 2010, it does not have an ashtray. Just storage/coin tray contraption.
Maybe it does not pop out like the 2006-2008's?

Not sure if they'll ship out of state (or anywhere) but my local dealer in North Scottsdale can get them 3-4 days for $52. Double the price of ECS and OEMPlus but you can have it next week. Checking on shipping options for those outside the great state of Arizona, where its 80 today![]()

I should just sell mine since the boost controller is in the way.

I have no idea (or I'm too afraid) on how to pull the shift boot/panel up. I don't want to break sh*t.![]()

you need to wedge something thin like a trim tool under the corners and pop them up out of the clips.
