Decent camping to be found up Icicle Rd for sure, and there are a few really nice free spots off icicle creek if you know where to look. Would be nice to see more people camping this year.

Nice, as of right now I have this big ass room and maybe no one coming. My buddy just installed a turbo in his A4 but something went down and its not running right now and he was supposed to split the room with me. Still might have a car full of people though, so we'll see.

We'll have to meet and kick it

Free spots you say? Probably not lowered car friendly I'm sure.

I don't remember where I stayed the first year I went. The girl I was seeing paid for it. Last time I went we had timeshare. This year we had a room booked for the eidlewiess (sp) but timeshare opened up so we sold that room to a friend.

Did you call them when booking a room? I just tried looking for a room online and it said a two night stay was required... maybe it's because you got a room earlier though.

I called and they said I'd have to stay two nights.

I called Der Ritterhoff and got a room for Saturday night. Was kind of worried I wouldn't be able to, too.

Not sure if I'll be rolling with anyone to BCC, but will probably have a group to cruise with the Leavenworth.

FYI... I successfully booked a single night online at the Evergreen Inn earlier today... $121.32 after tax for their most basic room: http://www.evergreeninn.com/

Also looked at the Best Western Icicle Inn and though I did not proceed, it looked like it would let me book a single night. Their rooms start at like $180, though. http://www.icicleinn.com/

Alright here is a sweet spot i found. just past 8 mile campground you will see a "house for sale" sign and on the left a parking turn off. if you walk a few feet on the right side before the road turns is a huge area to "free" camp. After that point the land is "Private" and you have to hike up one of the trails to find a secluded spot.
