Alright so Id really like to change up the interior of my car and I was thinking about putting a GTI Theme plaid headliner in it. I don't know what type of adhesive to use on it though. I do know I should use the 3M brand but there is multiple types of the spray adhesive they make. Any help would be great!!!
    Thanks,

3m or loctite would probably the best solution on a budget. Just make sure when you press the fabric that you spray even coats and smooth it out really well so it doesn't lift/wrinkle in the future.

Sounds cool though, if you do it definitely post pictures of the progress or completion

yeah that i'm not too clear on - i see so many different ones. I wish i knew the brand that this furniture company i worked for used. They wouldn't let anyone see anything they used for the upholstery. Mainly because of the company secret types and whatever.

But it was good - they used it on outdoor cushions and it was all weather type and 100% water proof.

it was the foaming type but it would just barely foam like maybe a few mils at the most on the cushion.

hope you can find something good to work though

I actually just read that the 3M 90 adhesive spray is the proper adhesive type. I'll look into it more

hi-strength 90 - it comes in a green can. I used it for my plad headliner 4 years ago and it still looks perfect with no sags, its more than the adhesive though, technique is important, im going to do a write up on this soon.
dont do this on a tight budget get at least two cans the job is a pain and its not fun to do it twice.

good luck, pm with questions i have done many-a-liner

    Adhesive seen here:

this has motivated me to do a write up for the forum, stay posted, im gonna try to do it tomorrow as i just bought a 89 gti with saggy liner syndrome
