I will let the pics speak for themselves. It'll be parking lot pics and no editing, so nothing special. What you'll see is what you'll get.

Yeah, I was going to take some pics of just my car earlier this week, but I figured comparison pics against a stock car would be worth a few days' wait.

Pretty obvious difference. You'd never think so just looking at the numbers. Gunmetal looks so killer on RB too!

its a little difficult to tell due to the 18' rim stock and the 19' HRE rims. if you look at the side shots and place the center cap on the bumper line, you can see the drop difference. i love the look with the 19's but since i will be staying with 18' rims, i may go H&R sport springs. it will give me just a little bit more drop and look as good as the 19's with euro springs.

I agree completely about the numbers versus visual difference.

Gunmetal/anthracite is definitely my color of choice for wheels on RB.

Thanks for reminding everyone of this important point. Much of the visual effect is from the 19" wheels and tires with slightly larger rolling diameter. If you want more of a visual difference, but want to stick with 18" wheels, the Euro-spec R springs may not be the right choice.

Why is it that dutch is the only one doing the bag? I love the euro spring and it looks like it has a lot more room to grow

There are a number of R owners with bags. In fact, you can see one of them (Josh aka casperslost has bagged his white R) in a couple of these pictures. luke.wl, JohnnyR32, and a couple of others have also bagged (or will bag) their Rs.

I'm sorry, I posted all the pictures I took. We didn't have much time or opportunity to do a lot of moving around because the lot was filling up very quickly for Coffee & Cars. If I get another chance to do comparison shots, I'll definitely take a nose-to-nose photo.

Hey TLud, or any other knowledgable expert.

I was trying to reference the part numbers from the dealers network to do some local price comparisons and the dealer said for the fronts they can only see "1K0 411105JG" vs."1K0 411115JG" i have given them, but the paint markings "yellow - white - orange" match, which is really confusing.

Note these are for the 4-door front springs.

Are they the same thing or do we have the part number wrong/mixed up?

    Any help would be appreciated.

The two part numbers are different. The one you listed is different then the one the US dealer gave him. However, both have the same paint markings on them. Make sense?

That's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure before throwing out an answer. I really can't speak for the other part number, but I know that the one I listed with that color code is definitely the right one. I don't know exactly what the various colors stand for (one likely refers to load, one to front versus rear, etc.) to determine whether these different part numbers exist to account for a difference in the springs not captured by the color codes or whether these are in fact the same part and the different numbers are for some administrative or other non-material difference.

TLud you have to be one of the top contributors on this board. Thanks for all the info.

I think I'm sold on the Euro R springs. I was thinking about coilovers, but looking at your ride, I'm not sure how much lower I could really go on 19x8.5 et 45 with 235s. I can't deal with any rubbing, so this has to be my best option...and for half the price of coils.

sorry for not getting back to you sooner, yes webcrawlr was right ... different parts same color markings. I guess they are the same thing.

That's good news, we still need 2 more guys to go ahead and get the group buy price of 10+ bracket.

    Let's make this happen!

I think I'm ready to sign up for the group buy. Are we buying everything we need to install the springs, or are there additional parts we need to buy on our own? Thanks.

How different are the VWR springs to these?

Anyone have a set of VWR springs installed? Pic's of ride height?

I'm pretty sure VWR doesn't make springs for the R model

VWR does not sell springs for the Golf R, yet they encourage you to buy their much more expensive coilover setup with progressive springs.

No, thank you. OEM Euro springs are linear and are matched for our dampers. Win/win.

Of course there are those who disagree because they don't go moar low.
