I would consider this more body work specific considering it involves painting and aesthetics.
Basically my Avant Garde wheels, not even 6 months after purchasing them, started peeling. The clear coat is peeling in large areas on the faces only. I tried to have them warrantied however had no luck (I won't get into details.)
To have them repaired I'm probably looking at $100+ per wheel. Considering they were only around $200 a wheel brand new it's most definitely not worth it to have them repaired as they are not rare, readily available and fairly inexpensive.
With keeping all that in mind is there any way I could sand down the surfaces only where the clear coat has peeled off and hit it with some aerosol clear. (The faces are raw, machined aluminum. Interiors are gun metal.) Right now where it has peeled off it looks like crap, the aluminum is oxidizing and getting spotty. They are still decent wheels so I would like to save them if at all possible.
