can insurance cover that?

Gotdang, I have the worse luck when it comes to road hazards. This is my S4 from several years back on I-75 while taking my young cousins to Disney. Pipe fell off a truck, car in front of me kicked it up, and bam. Luckily it didn't pierce the inside.
Now fast forward to last night. Driving in the left hand lane of I-4. Car in front of me decides that running over a tire is a smart thing to do. Said car kicks the tire in the air, and voila. Looks like I might need a new bumper.
I'm off to get my inspection.

Damn that sucks. Most of the road hazards I deal with are potholes. I'm paranoid about my alignment to an obsessive level. Have had so many bad experiences though.
pardon my 'merican

Since 2010, I've keep getting my windshield stone chipped and having to get it repaired, The 2002 civic has gone through 3 windshields, all from I275, its all freak incidents too, I dont tailgate but I've seen the rock hit the windshield from the opposite lane and hit the windshield.
The GTI has already he one windshield replaced, original was chipped and repaired, but cracked 2 weeks ago. On the GTI, each time it was coming off a traffic light, accelerating and I was either 2nd car or first car in line, with still a good distance behind the car in front.

Its worth checking up on the FL laws. My buddy had just about the same thing happen to him in Mass. The Mass highway department is responsible for keeping the road free of debris and had to pay the bill to repair his car. Sorry to hear though, hope the repair is as painless as possible.

Here's one that slowed down a few of us the other day.
Moving them was a challenge to say the least.![]()

I have had a few close calls with flinging debris, but my personal best was running across a 2-3 inch lip across two lanes of an expressway here in Grand Rapids. They were doing some contstruction and failed to warn about the lip, nor did they throw some gravel or asphalt down to smooth it...went across it at 60 and BABAAMABABBAABMBABMABA...bent all 4 new wheels.

stomped in the fender of my wrx myself just to see if I could (yes i was drunk lol). left it like that until i totaled the car 2 years later.
hit a muffler at 85mph with the gti a few days after purchase. gashed up the bumper pretty good and tore the lower cover half-out. shrugged.
35k miles later the lower cover is still hanging there![]()

Will it even stay in there? Looks like most, if not all, the clips are broken off.

I drove over a de-laminated transport truck tire belt at 2am on a dark stretch of highway 401 a few years back.
I was in a Jeep TJ with a 4" lift and 33's so everything went better than expected.
Felt kind of like hitting a raccoon.

If I had a unique and expensive car, I would be upset. Almost nobody's in TCL are either. (there are a couple guys with some exotics, but mostly nothing here breaks 80k)
A gti is disposeable. Mine will be in the junkyard in 4 years/120k. Guaranteed. no point of fixing something visual for only 4 years.

Not my car but I was driving on the expressway and car in front of me ran over a huge piece of tire and i couldn't dodge it in time and it took out one of the fog lights.
