There isn't anything available yet as the car is too new for general replacement shocks. For a couple of years (especially with a "family sedan" like the Passat) the options will be either springs or full coilovers. Bilstein has a Sport shock (shorter case to accommodate lowering) in Europe for the latest German Passat, but there's no guarantee they'd fit, and Bilstein US might not be willing to import them.

By the time the stock struts and shocks wear out, Bilstein and Koni will have several options, and Eibach and H & R will have their ProSystem and Cup Kit matched spring/shock (shocks for both made by Sachs) setups.

The next step may be for someone to see if a B6 Cup Kit would fit.

I am pretty sure anything off the B6 will fit, I have even heard any suspension off the gti/jetta will work.

This was found to be the case with the Tiguan, except that some spring/shock (not coils) combos couldn't handle the weight and while they looked awesome, bottomed out when running over coins.

My wife two friends and our baby went for diner tonight and it was fine just a little rougher over train tracks but other than that it seems good so far.

I don't remember seeing anothe gray SEL lowered with bristols on it here on the forum. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Any additional parts needed to go with the H&R springs?

With the GTI there were several "one time use" nuts and bolts.
(needed for the lower control arms I believe)

    Thanks again!

Hmmm....I put the Eibach Pro-System on my current MKV GLI and found the lowering was very modest from the GLI suspension. My guess was that that since the stock GLI bits are already lower than the Jetta parts, the measured drop Eibach listed was less than I actually measured. That being said, I wonder if my OE GLI suspension would bolt up without too much trouble? I would prefer to go that route and keep VW parts on a VW car. Anybody done this?

Bump to see if there were any additional parts needed.

    Thanks!

No I don't think there were any additional parts used. If so the mechanic didn't charge me for them. I took it to the shop gave them the springs and they put them on and aligned.

There are a bunch of bolts that are TTY that should be replaced

That makes me wonder if they reused the TTY bolts on mine now.

    ShredX-

Thanks, I agree about the gap of the stock set. This is not the first car that i have lowered, but it is the first that i only swaped the springs. I am still waiting for KW to bring their coilover set up to market or even for Bilstein or koni shocks. The current ride is nice, just floats a few too many times before settling down after a good bump.

    Thanks.

Would you say it bounces/floats more than stock? I feel the stock suspension is a little floaty after the GTI. I don't want to get these coils and end up going in the wrong direction.

Also could be unfair to continue to compare the two cars. GTI was pretty special.

if you drop the car and change the springs, does that void the warranty on the suspension and such?

the rebound is floaty- I had a 2006 GLI, stock it was much stiffer and more resonsive than current GLI. and makes the passat feel like a boat. Reality is you can always make improvements and dial in your wants and needs. Thats why we have aftermarket parts...lol

Doesn't look like that many folks are going for the H&R CO, how did you feel on the ride when you drop it all the way to the bottom/is it the adjustable CO? I just want to do it right on the suspension so I dont' have to worry about camber and tire wear issues later on.
