Dried grape soda. Fact. It is the stickiest substance known to man when dry and maintains a wet appearance.

According to the thread, he got about 13 mph wheel spin on the 1-2 shift, 8 mph on the 2-3 shift, and 10 mph on the 3-4. Imagine if he powershifted!

Well back up your statement. How many other cars are in this weight class and come stock with 640hp? So yeah he is kinda right. Although hella awesome 10.4 on a car with DR's, that weight and 640HP! seems about right?

      Of course not.

      You sure about that?

Motor Trend used to get some fairly blazing 0-60 times (compared to other magazines).
One of them managed to get an 8 second flat 0-60 time in a stock 1.6 Miata.

It's not cheating. Just steroids in MLB, perfectly legal. Lol

Most magazines test on normal surfaces.

From time to time logistics limit them to a dragstrip, but they try to avoid it.

      Here C&D discusses this directly...

      http://www.caranddriver.com/features...-c-d-test-cars

Our Michigan testing is done at DaimlerChrysler's proving ground in Chelsea, about 15 miles west of Ann Arbor. We rent the facility's 1.6-mile concrete straightaway, an asphalt skidpad that measures 1000 by 900 feet, and the 4.7-mile banked oval. (When cars aren't available here or in California, we simply take the equipment to the source and rent a nearby drag strip or racetrack.)

In before "plastic bumper melts in the sun, interior sucks, etc etc" The ZR1 is just all sorts of badassery. That would be a blast to drive.

      I GM over this.

Prepped strips are not unusual. Using VHT is a bit of overkill - it's actually an adhesive compound (Very High Tack). Typically, prep consists of lots of burnouts to get rubber into the asphalt. Like surfaces have the highest friction coefficients, so getting rubber into the asphalt does quite well to bring the CoF up in the box. But VHT.... hmmm.......

OK. Now we are at low 10's.

      1/4mi-10.260
      1/4mph-135.35

Other notes: This was definitely not a optimal run. The shifts werent spot on, the launch was damn good but small room for improvement, the head wind doesnt help, the car having more fuel and tools in the car is minimul but its something when you are looking for every .01's. Other bummer is since I went to the track by myself I only have my gopro video and the pics of the car and slips. I also was hugged by 2 men after this run. One of them had a KB blue Mustang GT. We were all stoked and man hugs are important to have IMO. After this run I felt no need to fine tune the rest of the run. My wife had foot surgery yesterday so I sped home to be typing here with her
Feels it has 10.1x runs in it...
