Thread: How do I find out what size injectors I have?

  1. 02-25-2012 02:07 PM #1
Hey everyone, I bought a motor off of someone and it's a built 16v block
With an aba head I believe, block was bored out from 1.8l to a 1905cc? Im not exactly sure I can double
Check that. But anyways the motor wad built by a tuning shop and the guy I bought it off said he put $1000's
Of dollars. I need to get this car running asap and I'm trying to find out what size injectors I have to buy the right
Chip. I wanted standalone but I cant seem to find it, and sounds a little more teadious.
Last time I looked at the injectors they looked green I believe. But is there a rule of thumb or something like that?
Like red tops being 330cc and green 440cc? I'm stuck here, I need to find the right chip .

Thanks everyone for reading and I know I sound like a noob, but I'm learning, I appreciate the help!

See if you can find the part number off the injector and google it. Lime green are usually 440cc. If it is a regular green they are smaller.

Hey, I tried looking up the part number but the only lead I got was that its from a lexus? im not sure but theyre installed and were driven on.

This what the injectors had on them: 5720d550 cav. And also L 10m 427 on each.
or it might be PU 10m 427 .I wish I knew how to upload a pic so y:con
fusedu could see. could someone help a brother out?

id recommend a picture. from a quick google search it looks like they MAY be 40lb Low impedance injectors. These will not work with a chip unless you have a resistor box. If you are looking for standalone there are plenty of options.

Thanks again everyone for your advice.

I'm ready to get the Stand alone system. I read that for in order to turbo my mk1 aba I would need digi 1 wiring system and ecu. Does anyone know off the top of their head what (years or generations) the digi 1 era was ? I think I may have gotten the wrong harness and ecu. bummer..( 1993-95) 2.0 ecu and obd1 harness I believe. I dont know if I can turbo this motor without the digi 1 ecu and harness. any inputs on this?

    thanks!

standalone is something like lugtronic or megasquirt. With a custom or plug and play harness. Digi 1 is a factory system made for boost but it is 20 yr old technology and i dont even know if they still make chips for it.

ok so I'm looking into C2 chip for the aba ecu and harness. I know i will need the fuse box and mk3 cluster. Is there anything else that I need to go C2? any recommendations for which stage considering my injectors?
