Thread: Auto to manual swap. Do i need to grind the crank?

  1. 02-25-2012 06:16 PM #1
Just wanted some quick clarification because I'm a little confused.
    I'm swapping an ATW from a 2000 automatic A4 into a 99.5 A4 using a 99 Passat b5 manual tranny.
Do I need to grind the end of the crank and fit a pilot bearing? If so where exactly do I need to grind?
    Thanks for any info.

u can get a custom pilot bearing made cost me 100$ but worth it
Take the tc bushing out and put in the bearing should be 24mm od and the id is 15mm and i went with 14 mm length but do u own measurements.
I sould have my car done in two week and I let u know how it goes.
"I'd rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else build it for me"

    best thing i've ever heard
