    Yay, work!

    Paint touch up work yesterday.

Pulled wheels today and did some undercoating. New turn signal and wiper stalks. New ignition switch. Installed the trim in front of the side windows, and misplaced my hockey sticks AGAIN!.

Need to find/install those this week. Trim bumper end caps. Alignment. Lower. Buff turns/tails. Detail work on interior.

All before the BFI shindig Saturday. And, I leave for MD tomorrow until late Wednesday night. Ugh. At least progress is happening again

Anyone going to be there this weekend?

ugh...more than I had hoped unfortunately. started running like ass yesterday. now, not really running at all. Tore into it for a few hours today....finding all kinds of things not right on the engine...once I get everything fixed right, it's probably gonna need a complete retune. I'm not sure what all was broke/rigged before, but I'm willing to bet it was tuned for it...so I guess I get to learn Tunerpro/megasquirt too. Parked underneath my Eurovan for the time being - which is tied up on the lift until I can find a transmission for it which is seemingly unobtainium.

oh yeah - WTB B3 passat automatic throttle body too...found pieces of mine in my air filter. Usually not a good thing. I knew I shoulda just started off with an engine swap...

Bummer, but I guess it's all part of the fun! Otherwise we would all be on the H**da forums.....

I imagine if you do not need to replace any of the injectors etc, the tune may not be too affected. Oh well bright side, the car looks great! Wish I had one like it!

running again. repaired throttle body and a bunch of wiring, and made some tweaks.

going back under the knife though. I never really wanted the MS'd 16v, and the previous interested buyer still wants it, so it's leaving very soon. Not sure what's going in yet, but you can bet it's Motronic

Went through this harness...this is all that *isn't* needed-

    ...and this is what is-

and resting almost kinda sorta in place...time to call it a night.

holy thorn in my side batman. I've got 3 different wiring diagrams for this thing, and they are all wrong. Been trying to get this thing wired up for weeks on end. Thought the ECM was bad against my better judgement. Waited weeks for a replacement. No dice. Saw the pump puking out the metering head. Ordered seal kit. Arrived. Went to install, found metal shavings everywhere inside. ****. Got a good core ALH pump from a buddy. Swapped cam plate, rollers, and metering head, got it all back installed and happy, no more leak. FINALLY got the wiring sorted today...and the pump is still junk. Doesn't suck any fuel, so I got an inline diesel pump to use as a transfer. No dice, still doesn't build pressure. This girl is officially on the back burner now. I GOTTA get rocco 1 progressing before SoWo. Drug her home today, parked in the garage, and will be forgotten about until after SoWo sometime (unless I find a great price on a used AHU injection pump). Of course I would figure this out after ordering an upgraded turbo, exhaust, etc... for my daily driver TDI wagon.

Bitch of it is...it's just gonna be for sale once it is ever done...It's been down so long, I've kinda rendered her existence useless in my possession. If any one would like to take her as is - just shoot me a pm. $3800 with wheels, 3K bring your own. Or, I'll finish it towards the end of the summer and adjust the price accordingly. Too many projects, not enough time...

This may sound dumb and you prob already did it, but did you remove all the f.i. pump crap and put a decent hose on the supply line from the tank?

oh yeah. Redid the whole system really...even added a diesel transfer pump. Talked with the guys at DFIS today in portland...sounds like I may be able to fix this pump myself if I have time.

I know I'm late to the game, but I totally dig the SL stripes. That '75 rendering above is what I'll do if I ever restore another scirocco.
